Let me introduce us: Catbird Creamery is a small business in Maine making some of the best ice cream you will ever taste!  We are family owned and operated using locally sourced and sustainable ingredients to produce uniquely flavored delectable ice creams and confections.  We need to relocate and upgrade, and are asking for your help! 

We opened a very small production space in a friend’s sandwich shop in the summer of 2010 and started sharing our product with the local restaurants and specialty stores.  We moved to Main Street in Westbrook during the Autumn of 2011 and decided to serve our ice cream as well as produce it and Catbird Creamery as you know it was born.  In this space we became so much more than an ice cream scoop shop.  We made all our own cones, cookies, confections, and toppings and, as always, all of the flavorings and inclusions in the ice cream itself.  In the three years since, we have gained a dedicated group of regulars and attracted ice cream enthusiasts from around the world.

As demand for our product continues to grow, we need a space that will grow with us!

While bootstrapping a business like Catbird Creamery has been a continuous challenge, we have always been able to take the next step.  However, we have reached a point where the next one is a doozy.  In order to sustain our growth and increase our efficiency, we need a new home, some new equipment and a lot more visibility.  Currently our space has become too expensive for us to remain and unfeasible to upgrade.  Since it has happened rather suddenly, we need to move fast.  Unfortunately, this is a larger scoop than we can eat by ourselves.

We would like to set up Catbird this time with the ability to grow.  We need to be equipped to handle bigger orders and more accounts without a waiting period, while providing what the shop needs to keep customers 7 days a week.  Equipping this kind of space takes a lot of work and quite a lot of funding.

So we are making this our chance to do it right.  To make this a viable and growing business we need your help to get the word out and raise the funds to keep Catbird Creamery available to all.

UPDATE:  We found our new space!  We are fortunate to be moving right across the street.  The only problem is we need to completely build our new space from scratch.  That means we need to create a kitchen from the pipes up and for this we absolutely need your support!!  Please spread the word and help us rebuild our company!  The more we raise the sooner we can reopen!
