My name is Evan Hutchings, in 2010 I started an indoor skate park called The Streets Skatepark located at 39048 Webb dr in Westland, Michigan.  The park is 100% built by skateboarders. We designed it, built it, and even the welder was a skater. It's been a great but challenging 2.5 years in business, I have worked almost everyday the whole time, and even struggled to pay for food. On the other hand we have had so many great events ranging from fundraisers, every type of contest, bands, birthday parties, and a lot of great skateboarding. To this day I have been trying my hardest to make it work, we have winters where the park is extremely busy and summers where no one is there. Right now our landlord is trying to evict us if we don't come up with money to pay our property tax bills. It is a bummer and I have been really proud of all the support we have gotten from people over social media. This all makes me want to try my hardest to keep the park here, or going somewhere else. I know that the kids no matter what need a place to skate or do action sports this winter and others to come whether it be here or not. Please help us reach our goal, we want to keep something we've worked so hard for going.
