ScotRef is coming
...in as little as 18 months! We need to be ready. That means getting the greatest band in history back together; the pro-indy Yes groups!
Your generosity last year enabled ayeMail to build 150 Indy Kits to help Yes groups all over Scotland re-activate and start fundraising for themselves. We want to follow it up this summer with Indy Kit 2.0, a second bumper consignment packed with pro-indy merchandise and campaign materials to extend the range of materials and messages on the ground supporting Scottish independence.

We want to build another 150 Indy Kits packed with material goodness to make sure each Yes group has everything they need to get the grassroots movement well and truly mobilised.
What We Need & What You Get
As ever, we can only do this job if we direct our full attention to it. So once again we're asking for a small amount to keep the lights on and the computers running for the next 6 months as we work full-time on independence. That costs £2,500. Once we're past that figure, every penny goes into the production of Indy Kit 2.0.
The exact Kit contents will depend on precisely how much money we raise and what special deals we can squeeze out of suppliers and manufacturers, but here’s what we want to achieve as a minimum:
150,000 |
All new Campaign Postcards (designed by Colin Dunn) |
£2,500 |
150,000 |
Yes weatherproof stickers, 2” diameter |
£2,000 |
120,000 |
Brexit Factsheets (FAQs) |
£1,500 |
30,000 |
Yes badges |
£3,500 |
15,000 |
Yes silicone wristbands |
£3,000 |
15,000 |
Yes Balloons (with holders ) |
£3,000 |
15,000 |
London Calling DVDs |
FREE |
That lot comes to £18,000, and once we add your perks plus the Indiegogo and payment gateway fees, we arrive at a total of £20,500. We do also have a stretch goal (see Above or below the target below) which takes us to £24,000, but only if you’re feeling super-generous!
The London Calling documentary DVDs were crowdfunded for by director Alan Knight and are already in stock, so we’re adding these to the Kits as a bonus.
The Brexit Factsheets debunk the endless unionist drivel that the mainstream media happily parrot, such as: “You won’t get in the EU”, “Spain will veto”, “You’ll have to use the Euro” etc as well as some real facts and figures about Scotland’s economy and exports.
As before, Yes groups can sell most of the kit contents to raise funds for their own activities, and the Campaign Postcards and Brexit FAQ can be given away at events or distributed via canvassing.
The completed Kits will be distributed through the National Yes Registry to Yes groups using their fabulous IndyApp (if your group isn’t on it yet, we highly recommend you register soon!). We don’t crowdfund for postage or courier costs because we believe every penny of your money should go to actual campaign materials, so once again we will ask Yes groups for a token amount (circa £20) to cover the packaging and courier delivery of each Indy Kit.
In return for your donation, you get an array of fabulous perks, the pride of knowing you helped make it happen every time you see a Yes flag, balloon, wristband or campaign postcard; and eventually, independence!
What will this achieve?
The Kits are a second stage to help Yes groups raise their own funds for the coming ScotRef campaign, and to start raising awareness on the ground about the real issues rather than the guff folk are fed via the media. Websites and blogs are great for getting the message out, but people have to want to visit them in the first place, so there’s no substitute for real physical campaign materials on the ground.
In addition to the Kits, you also get ayeMail’s continued support for the pro-indy movement; dispatching perks and merchandise for Yes groups (including Wings Over Scotland), and supporting them with design, web development, and logistics.
Above or below the target
If we don’t make the full target, we’ll scrimp and save and deliver as much as we possibly can. We might cut the more expensive items and produce more campaign messaging instead.
If we are exceptionally lucky and exceed the target, we do have a stretch goal: We’d like to get banners made for up to fifty Yes groups that can be used at events, on marches, for photoshoots etc. This will help give an identity to the different parts of the movement and make for lots of extra group publicity. Adding in fifty 4m banners brings our total stretch target goal to £24,000.
Other Ways You Can Help
