Crash Through the Surface
Reimagining the hit "Shallow" from the Academy Award-winning film A Star Is Born, Austin artist Sarah Millenary's vision combines the voice of the violin with the aerial arts to interpret the powerful love story in a unique recording and music video.
- Aerial and drag performance artists FemmeAF & Studly Do-Right will take on the roles of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper -- on trapeze! Cover photo of FemmeAF by Linda Drake.
- Cinematographer Samantha Panger, whose work has traveled festival circuits in the U.S. and abroad, will capture the beauty of this cinematic collaboration. Check out her reel!
- David Beck, of David Beck's Tejano Weekend, spends weekdays recording at The Woodshed in San Marcos, TX where he produced Sarah Millenary's latest releases.
- Camera-ready looks will be provided by film & photography makeup artist Jen Cunningham, whose work also includes body paint, glamour & bridal makeup, and theatrical set painting.
- A lifelong musician, Sarah Millenary recently released a singer/songwriter EP The Breeze, and her violin dance song "Dumplin'" is quickly gaining attention. She has acted as an extra for tv and film including HBO's The Leftovers.

Longing for Change
This mixed-media collaboration showcases local artists living and working in Austin, TX -- long known for celebrating a broad spectrum of music, dance, and film. Yet rapidly rising costs of living increasingly render the city unaffordable for working artists, with many opting to relocate elsewhere. Today, support for the arts in Austin is especially crucial.
Sarah Millenary has a long track record of building community in the arts. In addition to lending her violin/fiddle, guitar, and vocal talent to a range of diverse musical acts, her pop-up shop World on a String has long delighted lovers of hand-made creations. The Austin Chronicle recognized Sarah in its annual Best of Austin poll, highlighting her life-sized knitted guitars:
