My name is Daniel Sheehan and I am a recent graduate of the University of Hartford's, Hartford Art School. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Printmaking and Sculpture. Since leaving school, I have been looking for a space and opportunity to continue my art and make a name for myself.
Graduating was like falling into the shark infested waters of the "real world". Come to find out I wasn't the only one drowning in countless unanswered questions. Many artists often wave the white flag too early on in life and give up on their dream. My plan is to make sure that artists have a place to continue experimenting and developing their art while working in a collaborative atmosphere. Shark Tank Studio would also be a gateway for these emerging artists to show off their stuff and get exposure.
My reason for creating Shark Tank Studio is to create an opportunity to stay connected with a select group of artists whom I have worked with and come to admire. I may be their number one fan now, but I know you are going to be big fans too once you get to see their work! The studio will be set up in Whitman, MA, a central location for the current group of emerging artists to work.
With your help Shark Tank Studio will be able to purchase its first press. This will enable a group of artists to not only continue to pursue their passion, but prosper while doing it. These artists deserve the chance to have their work displayed. The best way to get it there is with your help! Shark Tank’s first press (that the studio has high hopes to purchase) would allow artists to work in a range of techniques like intaglio (etching), relief, monotype and lithography.
If we can’t meet our goal of $5250.00, the money we do fundraise will go to directly into the studio in different ways. We would still be able to purchase other printing materials like blocks and plates for the actual printing process, tools, or even a smaller table top printing press model. We just want to make Shark Tank Studio a reality and appreciate your support!
Please help by donating what you can, or just simply spreading the word about the project through social media or word of mouth.
