What's this all about then?
For those of you who are not familiar with Sherlock Seattle, we are an organization that puts on a convention each year to celebrate all things Sherlock Holmes. Our last convention was in January of 2015 and our next convention won't be until October of 2016. In order to help tide people over the extra long wait between conventions, we want to throw a mini-convention or what is known in the biz as a "relax-a-con", which basically means a pared down event that focuses more on being social and interacting with your fellow fans and having a fun time. But in order to do this, we need to make sure we have enough money to host it, which is where you come in!
What We Need
We need to secure funding early to make sure that we can afford to host the event at our preferred location, the Broadway Performance Hall, and also to determine just how much of a party we can throw. In short, the more money we can make, the better the convention! The $3,500 is to cover a two day event at BPH and all of the expenses that entails. We are looking at January 23rd as our mini-convention date and adding January 24th if we reach our funding goal.
While this is a pared down convention, we still plan on having the following awesome events and offerings!
- Our ever popular Artists Alley!
- Special screenings of films, videos, and more!
- Attendee created and voted conversation panels where you, the attendees get to talk about specific topics, ideas, and interests that YOU propose and vote on!
- The often hilarious and always entertaining Cosplay Contest!
- Special guests and presentations!
We need to reach at least half of our goal to support a one-day event. If we do not meet half of our goal we will either transfer all existing memberships to the official October convention or refund members their cost, whichever they prefer.
What You Get
There are many ways in which you can help support this event. If you want to attend the event, and we hope that you will, the easiest way to support us is to buy your membership now! The more people who buy early, the more capital we have to plan with. If you can't attend but want to support the convention and Sherlock Seattle in general, we have a number of inexpensive options for you to not only help out and chip in but get some fun and entertaining swag as well!

- Let your friends and family know about the mini-con! Post about it on your various social networks! The more people who know, the more people who might come to check us out!
- We need volunteers to help things run smoothly during the event, so drop us a line and we can get you signed up! Volunteers will get a discounted rate to attend the mini-con!
