Overview
Soaps with dots are hand-made by blind and partially sighted persons. The specialty of soaps are dots representing the Braille letter, used by blind people to read. Today, the Soaps with dots project is realized through the SFERA VISIA, the social enterprise, founded by the Zagreb Blind Association, with the aim of strengthening the competitiveness of social entrepreneurship and creating better conditions for employment of blind and partially sighted people.

The main purpose of the campaign is to support the work of Zagreb Association of Blind Persons and its social enterprise Sfera Visia, currently engaged in soap production and soap telemarketing (soaps with Braille writing on them).

The campaign will fundraise for specialised IT and telecommunication equipment for blind persons and persons with severe visual impairs. The equipment consists of computers, monitors, printers, software for blind people, switchboard, IP phones, magnifiers, reading table.

The purchase of equipment used for telemarketing will enable the creation of sustainable business concept within the Association. With Telemarketing being one of the adequate job positions for blind people, this activity will further support their existing production of soaps via increased sales, while also enabling the Association to offer this service to commercial companies as to cover most usual outsourcing services e.g. market research thus further increasing the opportunities for the employment of blind persons.

The campaign is supported by the employees of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).  The EBRD Community Initiative has agreed in principal to support our fundraising campaign in case the fundraising target will be reached and the requested documentation for the matching will be in line with their internal guidelines
