Hello,

My name is Anita Muheljic, i am a student at Miami-Dade college school of business and  live in Miami Florida but i was not always this lucky. I came to US as a war refugee from Bosnia and Hercegovina in late 1998.

War, starvation and suffering has played a huge role in my life and changed its course forever. Now as a lucky war survivor living in US i want to help those who are in the same predicament i was in for too many long years..

Your donation would help to keep in operation the only media source coming out of Syria today.. the people that run it are unsung heroes of this revolution.. they risk their very life each and every single day to take photos and videos such as those from the chemical attack we saw on CNN. They made those videos. They go out every day into battle and hospitals and villages and schools to give us the truth behind the devastation that has befallen innocent people seeking a democratic state. In the Quick link you will find a CNN iReports awards story about them, under SyrianDeveloper. You can also find us on Instagram and YouTube under the same name.

They have very limited power and too often interrupted and unreliable, so the solar panels i have been donated to send to them would help run the satellites when power is out, they would also share the power (via batteries that these panels will charge) with schools that are used as temporary shelters for orphan children who have not been in school for nearly three years now nor have a home to lay their head.

Your donation will go to payment of the large shipping cost from Miami to the dry port of Gaziantep Turkey where the shipment would be picked up by the SyrianDevelopers crew.  The shipping costs are very expensive including delivery to Port of Miami, insurance, brokerage, not to mention the freight cost itself.

These donated solar panels are flexible thin film panels, allowing for easy setup and takedown which is crucial to media outlets in Syria. These panels will allow the media center to stay operational with internet access during the all too common blackouts and unreliable power. The initial shipment will include enough panels to operate basic equipment at the shelters such as medical supplies and lighting.

Please help me to help them. It is my life's goal and dream to make a positive impact in lives that need it the most. Your generosity and kindness is beyond words appreciated by me personally and by my friends there.

Thank you

Anita Muheljic
