Space Princess is an elegant strategy game for two. Play as the Space Princess and use wits, holograms, and your trusty blaster to evade the forces of evil and escape the star cruiser. Or play as the Dark Zealot, controlling troopers and sinister powers to trap the Space Princess before she escapes.
"This is a really great two-player game! It's tense and well-balanced! It's been awesome watching the game evolve and seeing the passion put into this project."
- Jonathan Gilmour, designer of Dead of Winter
The game was inspired by our favorite space princess, Carrie Fisher. We are releasing it to honor her memory and inspire new heroes to follow in her footsteps. You can be a hero by helping us make Space Princess a reality. Each pledge to our campaign contributes to a donation to the International Bipolar Foundation, a world organization that promotes education and awareness of bipolar disorder and offers support to families affected by it. The cause was supported by Ms. Fisher, and is especially relevant to members of our team whose family members have struggled with bipolar disorder.
UPDATE: We have exceeded our charity goal of $1000! THANK YOU!!!!
Our goal is to raise at least $1000 for the International Bipolar Foundation. For each pledge, Nerdy Pup Games will donate its share from the cost of the game to the cause.
Help us support an important cause, and experience a terrific game as a reward!

"A clever and quick strategy game with meaningful decisions that allow me to play the player as well as the game."
- Jon Mietling, designer of Palm Island
Space Princess is a fast but challenging strategy game for two players. Each player has a unique set of action cards that makes both sides fun and interesting to play. The goal of the Space Princess is to reach one of two escape pods on the board in order to escape the star cruiser. The Dark Zealot's goal is to capture the Space Princess before she can escape.
Cards are laid out to create the floorplan of the Dark Zealot's starcruiser.

On a turn:
Both players draw 2 action cards from their deck, and choose 1 action to play simultaneously. The remaining card goes to the bottom of their deck.
Players reveal their chosen cards, and resolve them in order value, lowest to highest.
The Space Princess action cards allow her to move and rotate doors to make her way to an escape pod. She can fire her trusty blaster at troopers. In a pinch, she can place a Hologram as a decoy or Hide, disappearing from the board for a turn.
The Dark Zealot action cards allow him to move himself and his troopers to outflank the Princess. Troopers can fire at the Princess if they have a clear shot, and the Zealot can capture the Princess if he moves into her space. The Zealot can use his dark powers to Sense, playing a discarded card after the Princess reveals her action, or seal a door shut using the Lock.
The game ends when either the Princess reaches an escape pod or the Zealot captures her.
Space Princess is a game of cat-and-mouse, and typically takes 15 to 20 mins to play. Small, portable, and easy to set up, you can take Space Princess with you anywhere you go and have minutes or hours of challenging play to suit your needs.

International Bipolar Foundation (IBPF) was founded in June 2007 in San Diego, California by four parents with children affected by bipolar disorder. Well aware of the trauma that bipolar disorder causes for consumers and their families, these parents felt compelled to do something constructive to help.
About 5.7 million American adults, or about 2.6 percent of the population, age 18 and older in any given year, have bipolar disorder. Bipolar disorder typically develops in late adolescence or early adulthood. However, some people have their first symptoms during childhood, and some develop them late in life. It is often not recognized as an illness, and people may suffer for years before it is properly diagnosed and treated. Like diabetes or heart disease, bipolar disorder is a long-term illness that must be carefully managed throughout a person’s life (National Institute of Mental Health).
You can learn more about IBPF and bipolar disorder by visiting their website at ibpf.org.

Space Princess is the first game released by Nerdy Pup Games. Typically, a first game could mean a lot of lessons learned on our part as we navigate manufacturing and shipping and other new challenges. However, we hope to avoid many potential first-time issues by using the print-on-demand service, The Game Crafter, for manufacturing and handling of our bulk orders. All images of the game on the campaign site are copies of the game printed by The Game Crafter, and our experience with shipping from them has been timely and dependable.
The game itself is rules-complete, and has undergone a year of playtesting at Unpub and with local design groups. Art and graphic design are also complete. If our campaign is successful, we are ready to place an order with the manufacturer and have the game shipped directly to you.
Our campaign is set to end on April 5th. If we are successful, we expect funds to release from Indiegogo within three weeks. At the end of April, we plan to post live on Twitter and Facebook as we make the donation to IBPF so that all of our supporters can share in the warm fuzzies!

Thanks again for your support!
Frequently Asked Questions
Why Indiegogo, and not Kickstarter?
Indiegogo offers a great platform for funding and has no restrictions on charitable campaigns. Kickstarter is regarded as a destination platform for board games, but its site rules prohibit campaigns with a charitable component. We are proud to join the Indiegogo community and offer backers a chance to not only support a great game, but also a great cause.
Can I give more than the Perk level ($5, $25, or $45) to the campaign?
Yes. Any funds collected beyond the selected Perk level contribute directly to the donation made by Nerdy Pup Games to the International Bipolar Foundation. Indiegogo collects a 5% fee on all funds given through the platform, so keep in mind that the 5% platform fee will be applied to the entire amount you give.
