Spider is a psychological dance film centred around Camilla, a dancer obsessed with being accepted into her dream school. With an upcoming audition, camellias anxiety begins to transport her to a dark void filled with spiderwebs that try to suffocate her. Her mum, who didn't succeed in her own dream, tries to support Camilla but only succeeds in belittling Camilla's dreams. Camilla must overcome the spider webs to finish her audition, but will they suffocate her, grabbing her limbs as she dances? Will her anxiety consume her?
In the film's climactic scene, Camilla's stage performance intertwines with her presence in the ominous void, executing the same dance routine while gradually ensnaring by spiderwebs. This juxtaposition of dance and film was the initial spark for the film's concept. Spider delves into the narrative potential of dance within cinematic storytelling. The imagery of the Spiderwebs and the dark void lend a lot to the aesthetic imagery of the film and attempt to convey to audiences the struggle of anxiety visually.

Spider is the brainchild of a dedicated team of Griffith Film School students. After pouring our hearts into honing our craft for two years, we've embarked on a journey to make this final year of our degree count. This project isn't just another assignment; it's our calling card to the film industry, culminating our aspirations and hard work over the past three years.

In the breakdown below, you'll see how Spider's budget is divided. Every dollar comes from the hard work and dedication of our crew. Your contributions, however, will take us beyond what a group of university students can achieve on their own. These funds will primarily cover significant expenses like catering and securing locations. With a cast and crew of 30 people filming over eight days, ensuring everyone is well-fed and energised is no small feat.
Our filming locations, including a stage and a blackout studio, demand professional rental services, adding to our financial needs. While our team is dedicated and passionate about this project, your support can elevate the production's quality and bring our vision to life. We welcome any donation, big or small, and eagerly anticipate creating something remarkable with your backing. If donating isn't feasible for you, simply sharing our campaign and joining us on Instagram to witness the journey of making Spider would mean the world to us.
