Our Visit
We will have the opportunity to work with children of various ages. In the afternoons when the older children return from school we will teach English and basic Maths, and introduce them to our own personal experiences. Whether we’re tending to the cry of a baby or teaching a child to read our presence will play an important part in brightening up that child’s life.

The educational workshops that I am running regularly include acting games and techniques that can help children with different issues such as physical, mental or emotional difficulties.
The results which some of my young performers have had, have been life changing. I would love the opportunity to share my knowledge and passion with the children and young adults of Sri Lanka.
A bit about me ‘Will’![]()
After finishing a degree in documentary photography last year, social issues in other countries as well as my own is at the forefront of my photographic practice.
Since being introduced to photography by a close friend, the medium has helped me to understand and convey how I see the world that we live in and has enriched my life from all the different people I have met.
With in this trip I hope to share my experience with the children and encourage them with photographic workshops to explore the medium and challenge their perspective of looking at things in a slightly different way.
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO RAISE £4,000!
To total cost of our trip is £4,000.. We have injected some of our personal money into this but need your help to make our dreams of working at Ruhuna's orphanage a reality.
We are doing other fund raising projects, a Fund Raising day at a local venue and several other projects, which we are still developing.
Any money raised over £4,000 will be used to buy the children equipment that will make the projects we are both doing with the children more fruitful, i.e. camera equipment, workshop materials. Anything that is bought for the kids will be left at Ruhuna's Orphanage and community center.
The Children Will Benefit
The children we will be working with are mostly orphans and are very underprivilege.
Through our personal work they will find something, which they will love and can focus on throughout their lives. They will be able to use the skills and disciplines learnt on a day to to day basis.
We really want to offer something different to these children, a fresh way of looking at things, thinking slightly different and improving interaction with other children and adults.
