In 2013, I had an opportunity to attend a Fellowship Program at The DO School in Hamburg Germany and this experience completely transformed my life. In a span of three months, my personal appreciation and understanding of my potential changed tremendously leading me to co-found MGI Consultants Kenya with two friends, Tobias Mukhongo and Dolphine Aseka. This is a social business aimed at providing working solutions for marginalized communities in Kenya. At the heart of this enterprise is the desire to give back to the community giving opportunities for young people to actualize their potential and providing solutions that address urgent social problems such as access to electricity, clean water, empowerment and empowerment.

Having been privileged to get a formal education that gave us the opportunities of exposure that have made us who we are today, we decided to set up an educational program called, MGI Debate Series in 2014. This program brings together students from high schools in Kenya and trains them in debating skills to help them engage more with issues affecting them. In addition to helping their academic improvement, the program gives them the one thing that 'classroom teaching' cannot give them - exposure. For the past 3 years, we have reached over 10,000 students in Kenya with this concept of debate through training and competitions inside Kenya and around East African region. In 2014 we took 45 students and 8 teachers to Kampala in Uganda for their very first East African Debate Competition and in 2015 we took 45 students and 7 teachers to Kigali, Rwanda for the second edition.

These two events have impacted the lives of the students and teachers immensely and our project has grown to receive acknowledgement and license from Kenya's Ministry of Education among other education stakeholders. Given the success that we have experienced with this program in the recent past, we decided to expand the program to cover the whole country (Kenya) and have managed to reach over 20,000 students with over 200 schools now participating in our program. Our aim is to continue impacting students (especially from marginalized communities) with knowledge and exposure to give them the opportunity to fully exploit their strengths and potential.

As a new milestone, we have received an invitation to take a team of 5 students and 3 teachers to Stuttgart, Germany from 19th - 29th July 2016 to participate in the World School Debate Championships. I find this another important milestone in our quest to positively impact Kenyan students with exposure and learning.

The inviting organization is not covering costs for participants and my organization is not able to fully sponsor these students to attend the event and this is why we need your assistance to make this happen. We have managed to raise part of the money to cater for the students' Passports, Visa, and Travel Insurance and we need assistance in raising the costs for their air tickets to and from Stuttgart as well as their accommodation and food.

In order to make this happen, we need about 13 000 EUR and my organization can only raise 4100 EUR and we have a deficit of 8900 EUR (about 10,000 USD) for which we need your assistance. With your little assistance, you could take part in transforming a young student's life in ways that could never have occurred. I am therefore calling on you that believe in giving these Kenyan youths this opportunity to support us in shaping these lives through this exchange program with your donation. Just like someone gave me a chance that has changed my life, I welcome you to consider being part of this noble cause.
