The Cask started as a short story called "The Cask," written by Susan McCauley, which will soon be released in an anthology. Susan McCauley adapted "The Cask" into a screenplay while preparing to teach a course for Margie Lawson on Adapting Fiction for Film.

With a background in film, Susan sought to find a director and production company who shared her vision, and she was thrilled when Director John Hale and Producers Debra Gutjahar and Dominic Orozco of Rival Studios expressed interested in the project.

After a few tweaks of the screenplay, we have a great script and are ready to push the project into production. We plan to shoot the film in Houston, Texas.
