Short Summary

This film is based on the DreamCatchers Ranch Rescue Center, a non-profit organization which sits atop one of Florida’s highest elevations, located in Clermont, Florida.  Here, volunteers work hard every day to rescue abused, abandoned, and neglected horses. One horse, Blac was won by the ranch in an auction for $10 just minutes before heading off to a meat packing plant.

There is an air of positive energy on the ranch that not only rescues horses, but the family and people who visit and come for the peacefulness; they come for the spirit in the air because it is a place where you just know--you never walk alone.

Our story follows a fictional family: ( The Jordans and the Garwyns), known locally as the “DreamCatchers”, on their journey as they struggle to secure the future of their ranch. Grandpa, Kelly, Aunt Tina, Uncle Scott and friends share their own personal struggles; meanwhile government officials serve notice that their ranch, which has been passed down for generations, is in the center of a proposed highway project. Suddenly, the DreamCatchers must deal with the threat of a massive relocation of dozens of fragile rescue horses as well as themselves.

The Impact
Our director Ricky DiMaio and our cast feature a wide variety of talent, who deeply believe in what this ranch represents--true love for animals and the people who care for them. We envision our audience’s families feeling more empowered to look deeply within their own lives and to find those private places and moments where they can draw their loved ones closer and protect the eternal bonds of a family and friendships. It is our desire that they are inspired to visit and support the DreamCatcher Horse Ranch Rescue Center in Florida or a similar animal rescue organizations of any kind near their homes. Our film’s humanitarian appeal serves to enrich the family in that it reminds us all that we never really know what we have—until it is gone.

Film Making Innovations
Our film is a bold experiment in motion picture storytelling and film making, as most of our cast were involved in writing, pre-production and production of the film. Our director uses an up close side-by-side working style and gives his talent the full artistic freedom to express their individual and collective acting skills in each scene to bring this truly heart-warming story to life.

My name is Blac. I am a Mare. My owners wanted a male and gave me up. I was on my way to a meat packing plant when DreamCatchers Ranch rescued me for $10. Help me and my other rescue friends by sponsoring DreamCatchers Ranch-the Movie. The more you give -- the more it helps our caretaker Allison to provide food, boarding anf veterinarian care for us. Check out my perks and maybe pick something fun.
