Story Synopsis
The Goatman is a classic monster mystery intertwined with a family horror drama. What is supposed to be an emotional reunion turns into a night of terror. Centering on a dysfunctional set of siblings and their significant others, the movie explores the dangers of letting resentments fester over the course of a horrifying supernatural attack. Inspired by fragments of various legends, The Goatman introduces new mythical attributes and lore to the ancient, terrifying cryptid.
Who are we?
We are Clay, Levi, and Hope Butner, three sibling filmmakers and creators of The Goatman.

The idea for The Goatman feature film was developed in 2010 when we first heard tales of The Goatman legend. After getting degrees in film and creative writing, we are finally able to tell our story and make this project happen.
We have always loved movies and we've been making them together since we were kids. And Garrett Poladian, one of our childhood friends, who after years of studying theatre and performing in New York, will be joining us as our lead actor!

Budget
You support towards this film will go towards the following:
- CAMERA & LIGHTING EQUIPMENT - a large portion of our budget will be going towards getting some of the best equipment possible to make this movie gorgeous.
- CAST & CREW - even with a number of people providing a significant amount of time for free, we want to provide as much payment as possible to the amazing artists we have working on our production.
- SET & LOCATION - our experienced set designer is donating his time to help us construct an amazing set for our story. Though having the movie all take place in one general area, there are a few separate locations that require money to build or a trailer that we're renting.
- WARDROBE & MAKEUP - wardrobe costs will be kept at a minimum since the characters stay in the same clothes over the course of the movie, so we're putting a good deal of our budget into makeup and creature design and working with a fantastic artist to make our story as scary as possible.
- COVID SAFETY - ensuring that everyone has access to PPE, sanitizer, and other equipment to ensure everyone's health is incredibly important.
- INSURANCE - because things happen.
