Why We Still Need Your Help
In September, we launched our first crowdsourcing attempt through Kickstarter to raise money for the film. We raised $5,740, which coupled with independent financing, which was enough to complete the initial photography for the film. We currently have 80% of the movie finished.
We're back now hoping to raise an additional $6,000 to complete the production. Due to a -25 degree windchill on location, we dealt with several obstacles such as freezing pipes that made it a necessity to move several key scenes to a warmer time of year. One scene requires tubing, pumps and a hundred gallons of fake blood, which was freezing when we attempted it in January. We also found the hallway and bathroom of the house logistically impossible to shoot in, so we would like to create sets for those two rooms at The Fore River Sound stage.
This amount would also allow us to spend time at The Studio in Portland, ME with Jim Begley completing a Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound mix of the film.
The Hype
Since the launch of our initial Kickstarter campaign back in September, we've watched our small film begin to gather a whirlwind of attenton. Our website currently has 300,000 hits. Our Facebook has approximately 3,100 followers and our trailer recieved 1,500 views in the first 24 hours of being on YouTube. Comic book legends Neil Gaiman (Sandman) and Chris Claremont (Uncanny X-men) have been sharing the film through their social media channels. We've had articles in The Portland Press Herald, on Horrornews.net, Frightmeter.com, Igor's Lab and many more. Here are a few samples:

The RED Epic
For The Hanover House, director Corey Norman chose to shoot on the RED Epic camera, made famous by films such as: The Hobbit, The Man with the Iron Fists, The Amazing Spiderman and Prometheus. The RED Epic delivers crystal clear, 5k, raw video that can be shaped extensively in post production.
The House is Haunted
One thing that sets the production of The Hanover House apart from other haunted house films on the market is the fact that we filmed and are still filming in an actual haunted house. Built in 1883, this farmhouse, which is located in the mountains of western Maine, has been the home of supernatural phenomena for the last hundred years. Former residents have been shaken awake by a full body apparition of an old man, seen a full body apparition of a young boy playing on the stairs, seen floating orbs of energy above them in their beds and had objects removed from the walls to placed in other areas of the house. At least two former babysitters refuse to ever step foot in the house again.
Meet The Director
Director Corey Norman is no stranger to filmmaking. He has worked for clients such as: History Channel, Nova, National Geographic and Discovery. He was an assistant editor on Nova's Bioterror, done in conjunction with the New York Times, which won a Best News and Documentary Emmy Award. Earlier this year Corey directed and edited Last Chance to Reason's "Upload Complete" music video for Prosthetic Records, which has just shy of 80,000 YouTube plays and is currently working on their next video. His previous film, "The Barn" was accepted into nine national horror festivals including The Fright Night Film Festival and The Indie Horror Film Festival.
