The Project
The Legend of Zomba is an action-adventure game inspired by the gems of retro gaming. In the game, you will travel to ancient ruins, laboratories, fight mad scientists and solve multitudes of puzzles in your quest to find the three ancient artifacts prophesized to return the dead to the dust of the earth! The game is being developed with Adobe Flash CS5.5, but if stretch goals are reached a console port will be made possible.
The game is being developed as a PC, Mac and Linux game, but with enough funding a mobile port and console release will be possible!
In The Legend of Zomba you take the role of Dr. Mann as he travels the world to locate three pieces of an ancient key said to unlock the gates of Hell and send the undead back to the dust of the Earth. You will explore three unique "dungeons", each with its own puzzles, key item and boss battle. in addition to the dungeons, there will be a large overworld with several cities to explore and numerous side-quests to complete!
The game itself features many adventure elements, such as an expansive overworld, tons of cool locales to find, loads of quests and items and a deep backstory regarding the undead. It also features many action elements, as fighting all sorts of zombies is central to the game.
A key feature to the action is that weapons degrade over a long amount of time. Without proper maintenence they will break and become unusable, but maintained they become stronger! Your wooden club, for example, will turn into a studded club and then a spiked club!
The more funding raised, however, the more the game can be expanded!
This means more content, another dungeon, cool new types of loot and weapons and more side-quests and side-stories!

About Me
I am a programmer and an artist. The aesthetics of retro games have always fascinated me, while the depth, complexity and innovation in many modern games has often brought me inspiration. I have previously worked on Facebook games and have done some freelance programming and writing.
I have an 11 year-old brother with special needs, He suffers from developmental delays, epilepsy and several other disorders. He requires a large degree of care, attention and financial support. He is an inspiration to me and a huge part of my world, but due to the strain on myself and my family it is often difficult to follow my passions. Due to this, I have made the decision to seek funding through IndieGogo to develop and release this video game.
Creating independent video games is my passion, and by donating to my project you can help me follow it!
What I Need & What You Get
The $4000 USD goal will cover the base cost of bringing this game from development to release. However, my aspirations for this project are actually much higher and thus I have implemented Stretch Funding Goals. This means that, the more funding you can contribute, the more work can be put into the game!
Other Ways You Can Help
I understand that some people just can't donate, but there are plenty of ways you can help! You can help get the word out by using IndieGoGo's Share tools (located near the top of the page) or by telling your friends about this project!
It would really help me and my family a great deal! Thanks!
