What it's all about.
I'm Rob Christie, a filmmaker from NJ enjoying my first year of film school at The School of Visual Arts in NYC. I'm working on a new movie, but I need your help!
Remember when films premiered at midnight? It was an event. Now we have 10 o’clock screenings. The "Kodak moment" has passed. Movie houses are closing. (How many of you can say that you’ve ever been to a drive in movie?)
I’m a child of Blockbuster. Countless hours of my youth were spent among the isles of VHS tapes. It was an escape. There was an element of magic in picking out a movie to take home as a family, something tangible.
We currently live in the digital age. Cellphones, tablets, laptops, and digital cameras surround us everyday. These devices are efficient, affordable, and accessible, but they lack a certain warmth and quality that only old fashioned film can produce.
What I Need & What You Get In Return!
I’ve decided to move forward with shooting on 16mm color film. This presents a number of challenges. The largest being the cost of the film itself. As processing/developing labs close and companies like Kodak continue to go out of business, film becomes more rare and expensive to shoot on.
I can’t afford to make this picture on my own. I need help from you, my friends, my family, my supporters. No contribution is unappreciated.
Donate to the production of this project ($10+) and you will even be featured as an executive producer on the film. That's right, your name in the credits! Plus, a surprise gift.
If the film takes off, and performs well at festivals, you may be in store for further perks!
Wether or not I reach my funded goal, all money raised will go into getting the project from the page to the screen.
