Short Summary

Phoenixworksfilms is a production company founded in London in 2016 who have made a niche for themselves telling dark, gritty, stories transmitted onto screen in the short film form. In 2018, Victor De Almeida, came up with an idea for a cool web-series based on the world of Harry Potter. What if we dove into the months preceding the murder of Lily and James Potter? What would that look like?

We have already started shooting some scenes from the next few episodes, but there is still more scenes and this campaign is to help raise the rest of the budget for those episodes.

By helping us with your donation you will help us enter this magical world and help expand the fan-made canon, with this project we want to get more people interested in the lore of Harry Potter but also bring attention to the magnificent job done by creatives who may not necessarily have the platform to work on a project such as this. 

In addition to the main episodes, Victor has written a special episode following a young Marauders titled "Marauders and the Forest of Snomead!" Take a sneak peak at one of the scenes they appear in in a flashback scene for the main series in the link below.

What We Need & What You Get

We are aiming to raise £10,000. Raising this amount will mean we can make the rest of the episodes happen. The crew working on this project are doing so for expenses only and going above our target will mean we can pay them for their days work!

Check out our perks, you can be in with the chance of getting some cool memorabilia from the web series as well as a poster, or you could even get a walk in role. In addition to that, you will get early access to episode two before it is officially released.

The Impact

As BAME creatives from lower-income backgrounds we are often not given opportunities to work on projects such as these, it would mean the world to us to be able to demonstrate our talents in a fantastical world. 

This project may open up avenues and allow us to expand on subsequent episodes and help to create more wizarding-world geeks. 

Risks & Challenges

This is a fan-made project for intellectual property owned by JK Rowling and Warner Brothers, therefore, there is no profit that can be made from donating to our cause. This may also cause potentially challenges, however, we aim to make clear to WB that we are not making this for monetisation but merely as fans of the world and imagination of JK Rowling and in an attempt to work in a genre different to what is being made.
