Where were you when the Star Wars prequels came out? Were you just a child and these films were your first introduction to the saga? Or were you long a Star Wars fan, waiting a generation since the original trilogy? Everyone has a story about the Star Wars prequels. This documentary is about those stories.

The topic of the prequels is one of the most controversial in all of the Star Wars fandom. Some were disappointed. Some were euphoric. The reaction was and is still split between two opposite poles. On one end, these films gave us Jar Jar Binks. At the other, they gave us Darth Maul.

Now a new theory challenges previous interpretations of the films. Star Wars Ring Theory is a fresh perspective on the Star Wars prequels. At its core, the theory argues that Lucas developed a series of sophisticated connections, mirrors, and parallels between his two Star Wars trilogies. These links are in both narrative and imagery, and once noticed, they make the saga come full circle.

Along with Mike Klimo and his outstanding theory, we also will feature the work of many other experts. Here are the experts who have agreed to an interview if schedules permit:

Dr. Anne Lancashire - University of Toronto professor, Harvard Ph.D., and longtime Star Wars theorist. Here is an article she wrote on Attack of the Clones.

Chris Gore - founder of Film Threat magazine, comedian, writer, and overall titan of independent film

Dr. Camille Paglia - University of the Arts professor, Yale Ph.D., and self-described dissident feminist. She argues that Lucas is today's genius.

Paul F. McDonald - lifelong Star Wars fan, writer of Star Wars Heresies, and frequent commentator on the prequels.

Bob Clark-- writer and cartoonist, creator of webcomic Neo-Westchester, and Star Wars theorist, writing on subjects from Attack of the Clones to Duel of the Fates.

Dr. Jonathan Young - psychologist and Star Wars commentator, expert in Joseph Campbell and curator of the Joseph Campbell Archives.

Steve Galipeau - psychologist, Jungian analyst, and author of Journey of Luke Skywalker

Dr. Allan Maca -  archaeologist, anthropologist, Harvard Ph.D., and member of Time Team America on PBS

We will update with more great experts and theorists as production develops!

My name is Bradley Weatherholt, director of the project and a fellow Star Wars enthusiast. Together with Kyle Brodeur, producer of the project and cinematographer extraordinaire, as well as Matthew Fielder, graphic design wizard and also producer, we make up the Ministry of Cinema.

Ministry of Cinema is a small, indie studio that is dedicated to producing high quality projects on a shoestring budget. We recently finished a web series on Film Genres and Hollywood, a follow up to our series on the history of film, titled The Timeline of World Cinema. Ministry also produces short films, including a fantasy saga, a Western, and a drama.

We are all of us dreamers, lovers of cinema, and major Star Wars fans. This is our passion--we need your help to pursue it!

For this documentary to work, we need to interview many different fans and experts of the series. The major costs associated with these interviews come with traveling and securing locations. We want to capture these interviews in places reminiscent of the saga and appropriate for the community. In order to lock these places, we will need production insurance.

We have most of the equipment we would use, but there are a few things we would need to rent on location. Also, we will keep a skeleton crew (nearly everyone working for free), but given the locations, we would like to hire an audio technician. We also need to feed our hungry little crew. But don't worry, we won't spend your money on caviar (just filets and lobster).

As for post-production, we need funds to purchase music licenses and stock footage, as well as any additional elements needed for special effects compositions.

We think that with the purchase by Disney as well as the release of the new trilogy and spin-offs, the Star Wars franchise is more relevant now than ever. We believe now is the time to review and come to terms with the saga as it stands. This way Star Wars fans can go into the new trilogy with fresh perspectives on the old ones.

We need all the help we can get sharing the campaign. Let's spread the word! Share on Facebook, tweet, post flyers at your local comic shop, scream outside your apartment window, call your grandma and Aunt Ruth--anything helps!

Also, do you have a cool Star Wars collection or location to film? Let us know--maybe we'll film there!
