Bring The Shire to America!

We are passionate fans of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. Help us in this ambitious adventure to create the amazing world of the hobbit Shire.
The existing set that was used for the films is located in North New Zealand, which can be daunting for some fans on the other side of the planet to visit. The goal of this project is to create this amazing community in America and allow millions of fans to visit The Shire in the Western Hemisphere.
We will build the Shire in Middle Tennessee on the outskirts of The Great Smoky Mountains. It has the closest resembling landscape to that of the one built in New Zealand and described in the fictional works.
The funding of this project would be monumental by allowing so many people to escape to a stunning and beautiful land they might not get the chance to see in New Zealand.

What We Need & What You Get

We are asking for a total of 7.3 million dollars to create The Shire in Middle Tennessee.
1.6 million will be allocated for the purchase of land as well as landscaping to create the unique look of The Shire.
4.3 million will be used for labor, construction, and materials to build multiple hobbit holes, the Dragon Inn, The Mill, and Double Bridge.
1.4 million will be for maintenance, public service, livestock facilities, & administration costs for future preservation of The Shire.
We have awesome perks ranging from having your name inscribed in elvish in the Dragon Inn Banquet Hall all the way to a week's stay in an exclusive hobbit hole and full party thrown in your name!
Donations: please donate within your means. This project is to create something fun and unique for everyone to enjoy!

The Impact

This gives the opportunity to create a unique attraction in Tennessee that has a broad range of appeal and a large fan base. Imagine the feeling of being able to walk through the hobbit holes and feel what it is like to live in that fantasy world. This will be built on a large piece of land that will escape any views of the modern world.

The Shire Festival

We are also aiming to create a yearly arts and music festival. Our goal would be to produce a week long festival with plenty of space for camping, crafts, and musical acts. Imagine seeing music royalty rocking out with you in The Shire!! We hope to join in and create an experience that competes with famous festivals like Bonaroo, Coachella, and Lollapalooza.

How it will start

We have a large local community of contractors, builders, landscapers, craftsmen, and Lord of the Rings fans ready to jump into action to help in this venture.
Construction would begin in 2016 and look to have the gates open for the public in 2018.
