The Wretched is about three young actors who travel to New York for film shoots. While on their journey to New York they decide to be spectators to the many road side attractions, one being a Haunted Bed & Breakfast, which may be more than they bargained for...
Hello!
We are the Bearded Dragon, A collection of filmmakers from throughout Oklahoma. We come from a multitude of backgrounds ranging in Film making to business. A few months ago we decided to embark on the adventure of creating a feature length horror film.
Each of us has done our fair share of series, short films, and commercial. We decided to make this film cause one of our own, Nathaniel Davis, made a feature last year (He did this before the collective was conceived) and did most of the shooting casting and editing himself. Later he met another member of our crew, Mia Riddle, and pitched her the idea of doing an "Out There" horror film. With this film they wanted to create a movie that has great production value, and that was character driven.
From there we accumulated more people on our team and thus The Bearded Dragon was born.
We will be able to have the high production value that we need and, with any luck, distribute the film to the masses. The dream is get it to film festivals every where. We would love to have our little collective grow into budding filmmakers, editors, actors, and business people. We believe the funds will aide in our growth and will give us the ability to have a great production.
-Decent Equipment:
What we really need:
Equipment that lets us do what we need to do
-camera sliders
-rigs
-follow focuses
-lighting equipment
-varies lenses.
-Food: During the production we are going to spend long days on a set shooting in Oklahoma, in the summer which means triple digit tempatures. We'd like to be able to always be able to provide our film family with cold beverages, and warm food.
-Pay our actors and crew (even if it's just with food, gas, and a place to crash for the shoot).
-Pay for housing for our actors: Some actors we have flying in from the U.K. most of us have families and really small houses, we would rather she stay comfortably in a hotel room that doesn't have kids running around.
We have had our math monkeys do some calculations and the consensus was that we will be able to make this film with a minimum of $10,000. This is mainly for the equipment and food. Our actors would get paid some but not much(about $50-$100)
Now, I bet you're wondering, "What in it for me?". See below or to the side...
Some of the risks and challenges that come with making a film on a low budget is that it's "low budget". Meaning you can't get too much for free or by donation and volunteering. When people hear that you are making a film, the first thing that usually comes to mind is,"What is it about?" then when you ask if you can use their place for shooting they then ask,"How much will I get" usually they aren't keen on just letting us use it. On the occasion that they are interested in letting us use the house they back out last minute because the story is...well... A little "out there". It helps if we have a little cash to throw down to give a little more credibility.
Chill! it's cool. If you are not able to help out this time there are other ways you can help!
