INCREDIBLE NEWS!!! YES!! We have hit the 100% mark. This means we can cheer for joy and get this film made, but there are still perks to be had scroll down to find out how you can join us on this journey. You only have a couple of days left, be part of it, look at the perks now. When they're gone, they're gone.
- Somewhat autobiographical and part fantasy. This dark tale explores the ideas of who we want to be and the sacrifices we have to make. Then what of the people we have left behind if we achieve them?
- Written to be thought-provoking, we hope it raises more profound questions about what we desire and the allure of fame.
Story Summary
This is a story about dreams, desires and the struggles we face in life. Even in the face of strange magic. How do we react, if the opportunity arose, how would we respond. We are telling this story through the life of Dax, a young writer, daydreamer and creative. Struggling to break through his procrastination and get his work complete, an old friend re-enters his life and rekindles his desire for success. Dax's wish to succeed unlocks a mysterious turn of events where a sinister man with magical powers enters their life and proceeds to lead Dax along a path that will change his life and those around him.
The script was written to try and capture some of the beautiful magic of the old series "The Twilight Zone" (which is now being rebooted by Jordan Peele) as well as drawing on more modern references, such as Black Mirror. Not forgetting my favourite comic book of all time 2000AD and their short strip Tharg's Future Shocks.

Funding & Perks
- We need at the bare minimum £5800 to get this off the ground. Distribution of those funds look like this:
![]()
- We have some specific Production Design and Prop requirements which we are trying to solve and reduce costs on, as well as some un-avoidable location costs to get this project off the ground and looking authentic.
- We can borrow quite a bit of equipment and shared amongst the crew we can source a lot of things to help reduce overall costs in different departments.
- Locations are really important, and the opening scene is shot in a coffee shop, this is by far our most expensive and difficult location to secure for a day shoot.
- Even if we don't reach the full goal, we will divert funds to the most necessary production costs and try and find funds for publicity and festival costs at a future stage. We will most likely be restricted on camera tech based on the budget available. We plan on shooting with an FS5 but would like to be able to shoot the production on an Ursa Mini 4.6k Pro which would mean we need to find our full funding.
We have some unique perks:
- Original Composed Music (High Quality) available as an EP download (min 3 full tracks)
- 1 to 1 filmmaker chat with Writer/Director
- Special Coffee Chat with Tim Plester
- Unique designed notebooks to organise yourself in style
- Early Movie access
- much more....

"I like exploring stories that are fiction based with roots in the real world but branch into sci-fi, fantasy as well as bridging issues with race, culture and society in general. There are feature film ideas in the pipeline. It is hard to get a filmmaking career off the ground, and this project is an ambitious first stepping stone into that arena."
The Crew
We have a range of crew from industry professionals to graduates and current film students. Over 60% of our crew are female, inclusion and diversity are important factors to us on both sides of the camera.
Risks & Challenges
- Insurance around equipment and injury during production
- Data backups and ensure redundancy across the rushes and shoot
- As with all film projects, we are up against the elements, peoples and the randomness of events beyond our control. So there is always an element of risk involved in these projects that something might disrupt the planned shoot which can delay or derail any production. We are doing everything we can to mitigate the risks that are within our control.
You Can Help Us
We understand that not everyone can afford to help financially, but you can still support us!
- Please share on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook see the share options above. Any shout-outs, follows on social media and likes will help us tremendously. Also please visit our IMDB page and check us out there.
Stretch Goals
If we make it past our funding target, which would be amazing by the way, we will channel the extra funds into camera upgrades which would mean better lighting, essentially allowing us a higher quality image above and beyond this, it would mean more festivals, better production design elements. We will see what extra perks we can add to going beyond our goal for everyone.
