Pulling back the curtain on the industry of torture
Most people have a large blind spot in their understanding of how biomedical and pharmaceutical research is performed. They certainly envision test tubes and beakers in modern sterile labs, earnest young professionals in white labcoats, and doctors with clipboards, leaning over bed-ridden and terminally ill patients who received an experimental new drug that will soon save their lives. They may even be vaguely aware that some mice and rats were involved - the animals themselves no doubt benefiting from wondrous injections of life-saving compounds, with minimal suffering.
The truth is far more horrifying and brutal than people can imagine.
In this book, the author has laid open a raw wound in his heart to help people see behind the curtain and observe what actually takes place in what can only be described as true dungeons of despair. In it, he chronicles all the animals that he worked on - from mice to dogs to monkeys - and the terrible procedures that he performed on them as a matter of business.
Described in the book in an open and frank manner, these studies are considered "normal and acceptable" practices by an industry that spends millions of dollars to suppress the dark secrets of animal research. The author shares his thoughts and feelings about his work, pulling no punches or whitewashing the details of his previous profession.
This book highlights the intense suffering and waste of thousands of lives in such a way as to leave the reader without any doubt about whether animal research is justified or required.
The vital impact of getting this book published
The
biomedical and cosmetics industry spends enormous sums of money each year
to suppress and hide the atrocities they perform on millions of animals.
They rely on people not knowing about it, because if the truth were revealed,
they would have to acknowledge that the studies are useless, cruel, and
barbaric. They would also have to admit they were wrong. It's certainly a David vs. Goliath task, but it
IS possible to turn this industry around. Only through transparency,
such as this book provides, will suppressed information reach the public and force positive change to occur.
Where does your money go?
Your support will go directly to completing, printing, distributing, and marketing this book, as well as providing legal consultation. The more contributions we receive, the more books we can print and the more we can devote to maximizing the impact of exposing the truth behind the locked laboratory doors.
A portion of proceeds will go to Triangle Chance for All, a sanctuary that seeks to provide or secure permanent sanctuary to farmed animals in the Triangle area of North Carolina and to promote a vegan lifestyle. All donated proceeds will go to direct care for the sanctuary residents.

Perks
We are also offering some special perks for larger contributions, including the one-of-a-kind original cover art, shown below!
This was drawn by a very talented Nicaraguan artist named Ninette Guerrero Selva, and features a particular monkey that the author worked with. Ninette sees many of these little creatures running wild around her home and depicting them in this context was rather heartbreaking for her. She has donated many hours to this project and we are thrilled to showcase her work.
