Help us repair our van!
Hello friends! We've spent the last few months trying in vain to get our van back up and running. It’s been a long and stressful endeavor, that has seen the diagnosis go from “There’s nothing wrong with it” to “You need a new transmission”. This van has been our home on the road for the last six years and those of you who know us well know that we spend A LOT of time on the road. We've taken great care of it, but, things do not last forever, unfortunately. It is not lightly that we would come asking for help, or, abandon all hope for our home. We also realize that it’s the holiday season, but, these things always find a way of happening at inopportune times. We're asking for your help, but, we've also put together some cool, and fun, incentives for that help.
So, with all of that being said, here’s what we've set as our goal for this campaign: $7500. This is the amount needed to fix our engine and transmission in our current van. A quick breakdown(!): in order to put a new transmission in our van it is going to cost around $3000. The van also currently has 250,000 touring miles (In my mind, for some reason, these are harder won than regular miles) and to replace the engine is going to be in that same $3000 price range. As you can see that puts us close to new (used) van territory. $7500 should be enough (including the percentage that indiegogo takes, and shipping costs) to cover putting a new transmission and engine into our current van. Were we to surpass this goal the remaining amount would be put into other glaring issues that the van has, or, hopefully, allowing us to obtain a new and much more reliable vehicle. It can be harrowing on the road; not having a reliable van just makes it much more so.
Thank you, friends, as always, for your continued love and support!
Shane, Murph, and Micah
