THE PLOT
Unforgettable is a story about two desperate people of very different ages and backgrounds, coming together in difficult stages of their lives. All we need is a friend to rely on, and that’s what we come to understand when Charley Gray, a 21-year-old thief, and Albert Crook, a grieving 81-year-old, find themselves bound together in the same house, which Charley originally tried to ransack. Through sharing confessions, with the occasional twist and turn, what starts out as a last resort suicide attempt, turns into a blossoming friendship between the two unlikeliest of personalities and one that we hope will last forever.
THE PROJECT STORY
Since January, Graded Films has been working closely with Phil Davis, a recent graduate in screenplay, to create a story that captures honesty and reality, in a friendship between the unlikeliest of people. Our primary aim was to create something that audiences can relate to, highlighting very topical issues within our modern society today. We also wanted to narrow the view finder, and concentrate on the characters within the film, allowing us as the audience to explore and understand them, in the hope that we become more aware of the issues raised, as a result of the screenplay. Ed Waller is to compose a complete soundtrack to the film, making it a truly unique piece of film.
Graded Films was established by young budding film makers, Freddie Hill and Tom Carter, both students with the big ambition of creating a full blown short film, the two are proud to present Unforgettable, alongside their team of fellow creatives.
Unforgettable, written by Phil Davis, will be directed by Freddie Hill, followed by Jacob Thomas as Executive Producer, Ed Waller as composer, and Tom Carter as Director of Photography.
To create such a production, Graded Films need your help to ensure that they can produce the very best film. By sponsoring Graded Films, every aspect of the pre-production and post production will be covered, enabling the team to get the honest and thought-provoking outcome that the story truly deserves.
To show our appreciation for your donation, we would like to give something back to you. Each level of donation has its own reward from us.
WRITTEN & DIRECTED
Both passionately invested Filmmakers, Phil Davis, a recent graduate in screenplay, and Freddie Hill, an abstract and contemporary art student and designer, take on the story of Unforgettable. For the two, this is their first big scale project, with Phil having completed several YouTube based writes and other smaller based projects, he is here to make his mark with Unforgettable. Freddie also too has worked on similar projects, and is now currently Assistant Director on Dick Whittington the Pantomime, and will be the Director of Puppetry in a new Fringe play in January.
CINEMATOGRAPHY
The team are looking for something rather unique, unseen in the short film industry, rarely in big block busters either. Tom Carter (cinematographer and editor) and Freddie Hill (director) will be pushing the boundaries of camera movement, aiming to create seamless, tied together shots that appear as one linear narrative journey. Cuts and breaks will be used rarely, and if so, for effect.
'Fluidity' and 'Journey' were two words made clear in Freddie's plan. With this, the team hope to take the audience on a journey from the moment we are fired into the film, allowing us access into the lives of the two who are spotlighted in this brilliantly written drama.
