For twenty years, the Afrikan Martial Arts Institute has been bringing unique, exciting and informative martial arts classes, workshops and panel discussions to Atlanta, Georgia. Hundreds of men, women and children from around the world have been privileged to learn indigenous African martial arts, Filipino and Indonesian martial arts, Tai Chi, Jujitsu, Gun Safety, Parking Lot Safety, Self-Defense and much more from some of the best masters and experts that the Afrikan Martial Arts Institute has brought in from around the world.
On October 9-11, 2020, the Afrikan Martial Arts Institute continues - and expands on - this tradition by bringing you WarriorCon, three-days of martial arts training and cultural enrichment in a safe and serene environment.
And you won't miss any of the training due to a workshop or panel you want to participate in going on at the same time as the workshop or panel you have to participate in. WarriorCon is going to be done symposium-style, with all panels and workshops happening in one room, back-to-back, so you can participate in all panels, in all workshops and in all the fun!
Many of you will come to WarriorCon to find out what specific strategies or tactics you can implement for their protection or the protection of their loved ones. Many of you will come to learn the martial history and culture of Tire Machet, or Capoeira, or Laamb, or Kapu Kuialua. Whatever the reason, you will find so much more. You will find inspiration. You will find community, and you will find a renewed sense of meaning in your martial arts, in your work and even your life.
Risks & Challenges
Like any major endeavor, there are always potential obstacles, like unforseen expenses and programming changes and cancellations.
As experienced program directors and producers, the team has seen these challenges before from running previous large events and know how to deal with each one head on. We have a team of veteran directors, managers, and volunteers with over 50 years of combined experience of running other large events. We do our best to forecast any and all problems and run "worst case scenarios."
