The Story
Weather Talk was conceived out of a road trip I actually took with my dad. Following his heart attack, we drove together back to Los Angeles where my dad would receive treatment. We got to really know each other for the first time and gained a closeness we never had growing up. Just before reaching Los Angeles I came out to my dad which is the climax of Weather Talk.
We want to share our LGBT narratives from our perspective especially moving forward in 2017, which is why we created the Campaign (see below) alongside the film. Also, 5% of anything we raise will be donated directly to the LGBT Center in Los Angeles as our way of paying it forward and serving the purpose of the film.
The Budget
The bulk of the short will be filmed at Saddleback Butte State Park in Antelope Valley where we shot the Pitch Video and we will have no problem filming there again. The budget would basically make sure that everyone is paid and all of the equipment and services we would need for the project we would be able to get.

The Photo Series
Weather Talk is also a photo series that aims to share the vast and differing relationships between LGBT people and their dads aside from the one we will see play out in this film.
Weather Talk publishes photos of LGBT people accompanied by a quote as an insight into their own relationship with their father. In a similar fashion to Humans of New York, Weather Talk candidly shows members of the LGBT community who share something – long, short, funny, serious – with the world. Check out the Campaign here:

The Goal
The goal here is to share personal stories with each other and cultivate perspective and understanding. The campaign and this film is something I wish I might have stumbled upon growing up when I had no access to a community or other LGBT people. We really hope anyone reading can feel connected and supported in some way by our stories. We want to tell our stories truthfully and openly, to share all of our experiences honestly with each other inside and outside of our community.
Sharing is Free!
Times are tough and we can't donate to every cause and campaign. Please share our project with your friends and help us tell our own narratives. Together we can make an impact and share our stories as they actually happen.
Thank you so much for reading!
