Who are we?
Yiddish Farm is a visionary organization that teaches Yiddish and builds community through organic farming, rigorous classes and Jewish living. It was founded by two friends that had the same dream at the same time. Watch the video to learn more!
What is the project?
Yiddish Farm needs your help to construct an eco-friendly state-of-the-art drip-tape irrigation system in our upper field. Designed by experts from the United States Department of Agriculture, this system allows us to increase production while conserving water and protecting our soil from erosion.
Why is this important?
• Sustainable
farming is a pillar of Yiddish Farm and one of the most pressing
issues of our time
• Our current system of irrigation wastes water and is overly labor-intensive
• Without necessary improvements, we are limited in the scale and variety of crops we can produce
• Yiddish Farm's numerous unused acres could grow vegetables and berries for nearby population centers in New York and New Jersey
• If
properly implemented, Yiddish Farm is eligible to receive a grant from
the National Resource Conservation Service for this project
• Without constructing a sustainable agricultural system, Yiddish Farm cannot fulfill its vision of building community and learning Yiddish through farming
Please donate to this project and help Yiddish Farm save time, money, labor, water and soil.
And don't forget to spread the word!
