WHAT'S THE SHORT ABOUT?

DOUGLAS SIKES, a convicted war criminal from the American Zombie War, runs a black-market trading ring from the bowels of a walled-in quarantine zone turned for-profit prison. He and the other prisoners live under the watchful eye of the ZTV broadcasting company, and at the whim of THE PREZERVE, a capital punishment reality game show that uses zombies, and horrific devices, to torture, infect, and execute prisoners and their families on prime time network television. PAUL, and his daughter, LILY, arrive at Doug’s home to find him grief-stricken and consumed with rage after his daughter Steffie’s gruesome episode has broadcast her terrible fate for all the world to see. Paul and Lily find themselves in the cross-fire as Doug readies to unleash bloody vengeance on the institution and the vengeful woman who has oppressed him.

A UNIVERSE EXPANDED...

Because there is far too much story in Jason's head, he has already written volumes of material which expands the ZTV universe in several directions. We were only able to give a small taste of that world in the short film, but the comic, free from the budgetary constraints of filmmaking, will be used to explore the massive potential of the universe as well as exploring small quiet struggles of far-flung characters in their most solitary and desperate moments...

Over the course of the campaign, our writer, director JASON RAGOSTA will be posting WIP art of the thumbnailing, Layout, Inking, and Colorwork on ISSUE ZERO of the COMIC BOOK, which will tell the ORIGIN STORY of PREZERVE host, BRAD MANNINGS and the horrifying events that lead him to become the figurehead of filling ZED-FREE AMERICA'S need for Old Testament justice.

We have actually been sitting on a feature-length ZTV script for over a year, and are ready and able to dive into a full feature film to expand the ZTV Universe...

We're doing it to connect with people that love all the crazy horror stuff that we love. If this campaign is truly successful, it will mean that you guys will be discussing what cool new films are coming out on SHUDDER, or about to come to virtual blows over whether MANDY is a better film than HEREDITARY or who's gonna win in each category in this years FANGORIA AWARDS. We have built this project to scale to whatever amount of money we end up with. We will finish it no matter what. Only, without having enough cash, it will take a lot longer to finish and will end up with a smaller and less developed film than we know ZTV Sympathy for the Devil can be.
