Let's make Bitcoin ATMs more accessible and low cost. Right now an ATM costs over $500 to purchase, making it an impractical business investment. Here at BitSell, we're trying to change this. Our ATMs cost $150 apiece, and support multiple currencies.
Uses
If you're shopping in a store and you need to use Bitcoins to purchase an item, you have a few options. Your first option is to go onto your phone and use an exchange to purchase Bitcoins. This process is impractical in real life, because the verification process takes 3-4 days, and you need to buy the groceries right then and there. That's a major pain in the butt. Your other option is to find someone else who is Bitcoin and somehow barter with them in order to get their Bitcoins. Both these options are very impractical when it comes to purchasing items right away. Or for that matter, fire purchasing items at all. Here enters the BitSell ATM. The ATM is a low-cost way to provide customers with the ability to purchase Bitcoin in your store, on the spot. However, upon arrival the ATM will be completely set up for you to put in your place of work, or wherever you would like to install it and start using it right away.
Who We Are
The BitSell ATM was created by two very passionate Bitcoin entrepreneurs. Our names are Sagar Kumar and Lakota Lustig. We are both high schoolers with a passion for Bitcoin and for coding. Upon looking at the current selection of ATM's available to purchase, we realized the desperate need for a low cost solution. That's how BitSell was born. We both have extensive knowledge of coding languages needed to create such a device. It will be open source in order to allow you to make adjustments to fit your needs. It was created with ease of use in mind, however still allowing the software to be modded in order to fit your needs. We also provide a simple backend for you to manage and refill the funds in your ATM. The ATM software also will automatically update whenever there is a bug fix or UI update.
What We Need Funding For
If you help to fund our creation of this device, your money will be used for a multitude of different necessities. By watching the video, you can see that it is obviously only a prototype currently. We need funding to purchase the plastic casing and such. Right now we have everything ready, we just need the money to make it happen. There are other ways we'll use the money too. We will upgrade our servers in order to handle the load of many users. We will also upgrade our development devices in order to allow us to work on the development much faster. We will however use most of the money to pre order the devices so that they'll be ready to be purchased when we go live. If we do not reach the full goal, we will attempt to produce the devices on a lower budget, most likely having to cut corners, which isn't really a good situation. We want the devices to be as amazing as possible! If we go over our goal, we will attempt to write apps to manage your ATM's too. We will also be able to pre order more devices, making sure there is no waiting when you order one.
Risks
There are no risks to funding or purchasing the ATM. There are however, risks to investing in crypto currencies. The value of crypto currencies changes rapidly, crypto currencies are still a grey area with some governments, etc. Please do your research before investing in anything- stocks, crypto currencies,- the whole nine yards.
