Our story...

Michael and I (Shawn) are ex-Royal Marine Commandos who have served around the globe including operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. We have recently returned to South Africa, our home soil with the dream of running an adventure tourism company where we can share our knowledge and experience with the general public through adventure. We have been planning, saving and building this company for about a year now and we are due to open our door in Oct 15.  This is an expensive industry to break into and due to the difficulty in raising funds our dream has been and is a real challenge.

What is Cape Commando...

It is an adventure tourism company that provides outdoor activities designed to get you in and amongst nature, and at the same time having fun and getting the adrenalin pumping!  We are big believers in a healthy and vibrant lifestyle and this is our way of providing activities which can bring much needed joy and laughter into people lives.  We have a website (www.capecommando.com) which went live a few weeks ago and please do look at it to get a better idea of what you will be supporting and making a reality.  We will be going live in Oct this year with all the relevant requirements in place and we are on schedule.  

What we need funds for?

We need your funding to secure our companies future and allow us to remain in our home country after dedicating such a huge proportion of our lives to service.  We have spent a significant amount of time away from family and friends trying to gain enough funding to implement all the activities we would like to provide.  We have already saved up a large sum of money which has been invested in the company to put it where it is now and allow it to go live in Oct this year. 

We still require additional funds for some of the activities later next year, which we are falling short at present.  We have a failsafe if this does not work, which requires Shawn or Michael to return to their current jobs within the Security Sector to gain further finance.  This would mean that one of us is away and the other is running the company, which is not ideal but if needs must we will do this as we want our dream to succeed.

All our adventures are currently staggered but we would like to reduce that timeline and offer our adventure sooner with your help, and this is possible if we reach our goal.

What about a loan or finance...

So you probably thinking why don't we just get finance.  This is due to the difficulty in finding funding as a new company in South Africa, and especially since we have lived in the UK for the last 15 years we do not have a credit rating and thus cannot get finance.  We are struggling to find additional finance to ensure our company is all it can be and does not fail.  We are ambitious in nature and want to provide nothing but the best service we can, and in order to do this we need your help and that is why we are here.

So what are the funds for?

The funds will be used for the purchase of a trailer for the company to operate from and additional funds will go towards the purchase of our high speed power boat and safety equipment.

We value any funding you can provide as this will be a great help towards our dream and making Cape Commando all is can be!
