More than 96,000 people in New York’s Capital Region are food insecure.
That means that many families do not know where, what or when their next meal will be.
You can help them access the nutritious food they need to lead healthy, productive lives!
Donate to Capital District Community Gardens’ Urban Grow Center – a regional food hub that will enable the 39-year-old nonprofit to nourish 300,000 people with 1,000,000 pounds of fresh food each year. Your contribution will help CDCG purchase walk-in coolers, where fresh food will be refrigerated before being distributed to low-income neighborhoods, senior residences and child care centers throughout Albany, Rensselaer, Schenectady and southern Saratoga counties.

Capital District Community Gardens has already raised 80
percent of the $2.8 million needed to fund the first phase of this exciting
initiative. The nonprofit has been busy using sustainable building technologies
to rehab a 100-year-old factory building that was purchased in July of 2013,
along with an acre of city land in one of north central Troy, New York’s
developing neighborhoods.
