Short Summary

Hello, I'm Stephen and I've recently started my own local nonprofit organization in the city I live in. World hunger is a problem all too common in not only the world, but in the United States as well. My team members and I believe in helping people to make a difference in other peoples lives. We all need help sometimes, and with the economy being the way it is many people have lost their homes, jobs, and financial resources. 2 years ago, my mother and I lost our home as well and had to stay with friends for a while. I can still remember hearing the sounds of my stomach grumbling as if it were yesterday. I remember telling myself at that moment that I had to help others like me or in even worse situations than myself, so as soon as things got better, I started my own nonprofit organization. Grow For Greatness strives everyday to fight against world hunger.

What We Need 

We've recently raised enough money to purchase a small warehouse so that we can grow organic produce year round. We're more than halfway to the point we need to be, next comes equipment, which we are running pretty short on. All of our team members work regular everyday jobs, so we don't necessarily have all the financial backing we need for the last piece to our puzzle. We need grow lights, organic fertilizers, hundreds of pounds of soil, and etc.

The impact

Grow For Greatness has managed to have our current produce donated to us from local growers and farmers. We feed over 200 people each week. We ship over 2 tons of organic produce to South Africa and Nigeria every year for the past two years. With the donations we receive we expect that number to triple in the next year.
