I have been living in a very poor area of Mexico for several years now. One of the needs that I have found here is to help with the level of poverty and poor nutrition that exists in the area, including educational necessities, proper shelter maintenance, transportation, and even some medical costs.

During the first many years, I helped provide a good deal of assistance through just about anything that I could earn during my travels. Unfortunately, the little that I can provide, in comparison to what is truly needed only to begin making a small positive dent, is minuscule at best.

Even most of any type of government assistance that comes to the families is either quickly pocketed by local politicians that must receive the money as a sort of middleman confirmation for the funds, or is quickly taken or extorted by the local drug cartel, and their agents.

My significant other and I have now discussed the matter, and have decided to reach out to others to try to gather the funds to help making a difference here, without the including the deep pockets, and bringing that help directly to the families that need to do so, without long application processes, expensive transportation costs, and a great loss of time when the money either doesn't come, or is taken soon after receiving in the normal public forum.

With your help, we are guaranteeing that approximately 80% to 85% of all of the funds collected will go to the aid of single mothers and their children, and may extend into the realm of the elderly and handicapped if we are able to generate enough to do so with your help.

We estimate that approximately 15% to 20% is going to get eaten up in hosting fees, transfer fees, banking fees, and transportation costs in order to accomplish our goal.

Most immediately, your contributions will go toward helping the families in this priority:

Food (the larger quantity that we can purchase at one time, the lower cost per individual)

Clothing (includes diapers and feminine products)

Educational Needs (uniforms, notebooks, utensils, pens, pencils, paper, erasers, etc.)

Transportation (to/from school, work, clinic, distant official appointments)

Home Maintenance (repair, electric, water, telephone)

Health Care (clinical visits, medicine, vaccines)

This is an ongoing need. We have set an initial goal of only $5,000, but are really in need of much more than that to begin making a difference. If our initial out reach does receive report; if we find out that there are enough people that really care enough to help make a difference, we will begin running future campaigns, and hopefully even be able to help more families with your help.
