2020 was a year of reckoning for all of us to rethink our relationships with nature, with others, and most importantly with ourselves. For me, this past year propelled me to pursue my passion for holistic wellness through ethically sourced spices. I am excited to launch Holy Spice to offer a peek into the wellness spices I grew up having, and to extend the sense of comfort it gave me and to everyone around me.
South Asian food is known for its use of spices to enhance its flavor, but the Ayurvedic science behind the benefits of each spice in the harmonious blends that grace our kitchen shelves is often ignored. The goodness of spices remains a well-kept secret with Indian household cooks who work up magic in the kitchen.
I wish to reveal and celebrate that knowledge by sharing it with you in an accessible manner. Holy Spices will offer a plethora of ways to use spices beyond the exotic golden turmeric latte, and into the daily cup of chai. A simple switch to a healthier lifestyle, with a dash of wellbeing into your plate!
We will be launching with 5 harmonious blends of spices that have been handcrafted based on our generational family recipes:
1) Compassion Blend - Made from Ginger, Cloves, Jaggery, Holy Basil, Turmeric and Cinnamon
2) Tranquility Blend - Made from Holy Basil, Mint and Ginger
3) Purity Blend- Made from Licorice Root, Mint and Ginger
4) Holy Turmeric- 100% pure Turmeric
5) Holy Amla- 100% pure Amla (Indian Gooseberry)
100% of your funds will be used to source and ship our products from India. We will be covering all packaging, marketing, operations and sales costs.
Well if there is anyone we trust in supporting our farmers and making sure they have all the resources, it's Vrutti. We believe that empowerment, just like physical health, needs nourishment at the granular level to become truly sustainable. Despite the vast troves of knowledge that farmers possess, they are unable to make steady and fair income from their occupation due to fast-paced, insatiable markets that exploit natural resources. Organizations like Vrutti recognize this gap and are committed to creating systems that can make farming profitable as well as sustainable.
We support Vrutti’s efforts by sourcing some our spices from female farmers in near Bangalore, India.
We firmly believe in walking our talk and are committed to providing all natural ethically sourced spices that have been lab tested and FDA approved! Our team is WOC owned and operated, meaning everyone from our suppliers to our marketeers are women.
