Zašto Image of War?
Ratovi su jedna od najvećih tragedija koje pojedinac i društvo mogu iskusiti, ali istovremeno, u javnosti i medijima sve se češće o njima govori s nevjerojatnom lakoćom i indiferentnošću. Kao reakciju na to, željeli smo stvoriti mjesto koje će kroz umjetnost potaknuti dijalog i educirati o razarajućim posljedicama rata i važnosti održavanja mira za društvo u cjelini. Ništa manje bitno, željeli smo stvoriti muzej s aktivnom misijom mijenjanja stvarnosti za one koji su izravno pogođeni ratom danas: dio prihoda od ulaznica bit će namijenjen izbjeglicama i žrtvama rata.

Muzej u kojem ima mjesta i za vaše priče
Image of War svojim će izložbama kroz vrhunske fotografije posjetitelje upoznavati s temom ratnih sukoba i njihovih posljedica. Prva izložba bit će posvećena ratu u Hrvatskoj od 1991. do 1995. godine, a uz profesionalne fotografije domaćih i inozemnih fotografa, u nju ćemo uključiti i najbolje osobne priče i amaterske fotografije prikupljene kroz kampanju #GdjeSiBio91.

U planiranje i realizaciju muzeja Image of War uložili smo mjesece vremena, iznimno puno volje, truda i vlastitih resursa, ali želimo da on bude mjesto zajednice - prostor uključivosti i mjesto učenja, muzej koji je i vaš i naš. Planirano otvorenje muzeja je u srpnju ove godine na adresi Hebrangova 4, a u prostoru muzeja osim izložbi želimo organizirati i radionice i tribine edukativnog sadržaja. Neke od planiranih tema idućih izložbi su djeca vojnici i Srebrenica - kronika jednog masakra.

Kako mogu pomoći?
Kako bismo sve to postigli, potrebna nam je vaša pomoć! 90% sredstava već smo osigurali, ali nedostaje nam posljednjih 10% sredstava kako bismo finalizirali postavljanje izložbe Rat u Hrvatskoj i otvorili vrata našeg i vašeg muzeja ovog srpnja. Uz malo pomoći, muzej ćemo zajednički postaviti na noge, a svatko od vas može postati suosnivač.

The idea behind Image of War
Image of War’s purpose is to respond to the increasing trivialization of war and its consequences. Public discourse regarding armed conflict has become increasingly callous and indifferent. As a reaction to that, we wanted to create a place that will, through art, stimulate dialogue and educate about the devastating consequences of war and the imperative of peace for everyone. Last but not least, we wanted to create a museum with an active mission of changing realities for those directly affected by war today: a portion of all tickets sold will be donated to refugees and war victims.

We've invested months of our time and all of our efforts and resources in the planning and realization of this museum, but what we really want is to build a place for the whole community - a place of belonging and a place of learning, a museum that is equally yours and ours. Planned opening of the museum is in July of this year and, together with the first exhibition that will cover war in Croatia from 1991-1995, we are planning to use the museum as a venue for various workshops and educational events. Exhibitions that will follow will cover the topics such as child soldiers and the Srebrenica massacre.

How can I help?
In order to achieve all this, we need your help! We have already secured 90% of the funds, but we are missing the last 10% of the funds to finalize the first exhibition on war in Croatia and to open the doors of our and your museum this July. With a bit of help, we will put this museum on its feet, and each of you can become not only a museum's funder but also its founder.

Why should I decide to support Image of War?

- museum with a mission: we improve lives of refugees and victims of wars today
