I have been a practising artist for over 30 years. My art practice is driven by an openness to challenges and a willingness to take on new opportunities.  I engage my creativity in as many endeavours as I am able.  I am a multi-disciplinary artist and have created installations, film, photography, altered books, banners and textile art.  I have had an active art teaching practice including workshops at Kitchener Waterloo Art Gallery.  I have brought art programs to the elderly, incarcerated, marginalized, adults and children.  My work has been shown locally, nationally and internationally.  In 2018 I was the Artist in Residence at the Ayr Library. I have a solo show of my mandalas coming in December 2022. I have created a banner installation that hung for two years and was extremely well received. 

Throughout my career, I have created more than 1000 mandalas.   

Each mandala is an exquisite sanctuary that holds the transformative power of creativity and soothing meditation. The creation of mandalas is meditative bringing me peace and balance.  My history of creating unique mandalas and banner installations makes me the perfect artist to create a successful mandala meditation circuit.

I am proposing to create a public art meditation circuit.  Mandala artwork will be created and printed onto vinyl banners.  The banners will be hung in trees at Knollwood Park at Shepherd School as agreed upon with Principal Christina Webster.  One banner will be produced with simple instructions as to how to use the meditation circuit.  The five mandala banners will be vibrant and appeal to the public.  Each mandala will be unique and created with mixed media.  The artwork will be photographed and the highest quality vinyl and printing will be used to ensure that the banners will last for years.  Each banner will be a meditation station along a pathway.  Each station will offer a mindfulness practice to support the well-being of all.

Mandala meditation is a powerful tool for wellness.  After years of the pandemic, people need this amazing resource.  This circuit will lead people through a practice that develops skills for mindful living, a state of calm and emotional well-being.  The proximity to the school and Auditorium will make it accessible to thousands and the natural setting will amplify the experience.

I need $2100.00 to make this project happen.  $350.00 is needed for the printing of the banners.  $1650.00 is artist fees.  $100 to help cover the fees of using Indiegogo. I will provide the materials to create the artwork and do the photography.  

Anyone who contributes $25.00 or more will get a PDF of all the artwork to download.  Those that contribute $200.00 or more will have their name/logo featured on the introduction banner, to be seen in this public park for years.

There really is no risk to this plan.  I am dedicated to providing the community with a mindful meditation circuit.
