I'm here to try to raise enough money to put me through training until the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. I need $6500 USD to support me for one year of training located in Phoenix, AZ. I have already been invited to attend the elite camp at the World Athletics Center in Arizona, pending my graduation from Cal in December.
I'm indoor and outdoor high hurdle All-American for the Golden Bears.
I would be more than happy to send you updates on my progress or anything else you would like to know from now until the Games start and after. I need 0.03 of a second to qualify for Rio to represent my home country of Serbia, and this camp would be an incredible opportunity for me.
I was in a contact with a management company, and that was supposed to be my potential connection with potential sponsors. Unfortunately, we are no longer in contact and I am not able to wait and see if something will happen if I want to have a chance at this opportunity. This way, not being represented, it's very hard to find any sponsors. That's the main reason why I need your help.
$6500 is a decent amount of money, but it will all go to the training expenses required by the camp. I am hoping to raise the money in any way possible, even if that's small bits at a time.
So, If you ever felt buying someone a lunch this is your chance to do it so. If 1000 of you buy me a lunch that costs $6.50, I would be on my way to Arizona :)
There is 60 days to collect the whole amount, but I would need it as soon as possible so I can declare my final decision that I will be a part of the World Athletics Center this coming training season. The training starts in October, but I would join the group there right after the graduation in December.
I am a Serbian national record holder in 60m hurdles indoors with a time of 7.67s ran this year in Albuquerque, NM. It would really mean a lot to me, and I believe this would allow me to make it to the next level and realize my dream of joining the other former Golden Bears who are now Olympians.
My current times are in 60m hurdles indoors 7.67s - World Indoor Championships standard is 7.74s, I would've ran there, but I couldn't due to NCAA D1 Indoor Championships that were held in the same week as the Worlds.
110m hurdles time is 13.63s - Olympic Games/World Championships standard is 13.60s; European Outdoor Championships standard is 13.90s (I will be a part of my home country national team at this competition this year in Zurich, Switzerland, this competition will be in mid. August of 2014)
