Short Summary
Hello! We are a small group of student filmmakers from the Media, Journalism, and Film department at Missouri State University, and we are asking for your help to provide the funding we need to produce our short film, Mime Management.
Mime Management is a comedy about a mime named Kevin who seeks therapy to try and overcome his unhealthy mime obsession.
Synopsis:
Psychologist David Sparling has helped many patients overcome anxieties and cope with mental disorders, but none quite like Kevin. You see, Kevin suffers with a mental illness in which that person takes on a very specific identity; in his case, a mime. As you can imagine, this has caused many difficulties for Kevin in regards to him living a normal, social life. His lack of verbal communication, over dramatic facial expressions and body language, and not to mention interacting with objects that don't seem to be there, has prompted him to seek the help of Dr. Sparling.
The short film begins with Kevin entering Dr. Sparling's office for his sixth session. Eager to see Kevin overcome his mime persona, Dr. Sparling asks how his week has been along with if he's had any improvements. Kevin hasn't had the best week, however. His new girlfriend left him, his support group has been anything but supportive, and he has yet to do what Dr. Sparling has asked him to do since his first visit: Take off his black and white face paint. Frustrated at his inability to find a possible solution for Kevin's anxiety, Dr. Sparling tries a more drastic approach to break Kevin. As a result, Kevin becomes increasingly hostile until he is ultimately thrown out of Dr. Sparling's office.
