On A Roll is a student run, non-profit food stand with the social mission of bridging the gap between Avenues students and the Hudson Guild students by employing them side-by-side. On A Roll sells classic spring rolls with an innovative twist; the traditional asian contents are replaced by a multiplicity of cuisines and foods: from chicken parmesan to Nutella and banana. On A Roll’s stand would act as a vehicle for engaging the New York City community, a medium with which students can learn transferable real-world skills, and a platform to fund charities in Chelsea. We would use this money to fund all of the pre-opening expenses (a large deep fryer + permits) and our operating expenses for the first day (ingredients + commissary kitchen space + equipment rental).
