Synopsis: Adam has had a great run with his bestselling first novel. The boy wonder has been on every short list, won every notable award, and been feted all around town. It has even gone as far as thought leaders declaring him to be the next literary genius. Now his much-anticipated second novel is about to be released. When Adam reads a devastating review of the book by a highly respected critic, his shock is so great and deep that he is jolted into a parallel universe in which he co-exists with some of his characters from unfinished and discarded stories. While the characters vie against each other, they also challenge Adam to rise to his role of creator, take the bull by the horns and make some tough decisions to get himself back on track with his destiny. One Hit Wonder is both a cautionary tale of not resting on one’s laurels and a motivational summoning of our deepest abilities to achieve our dreams.
Adam will be played by the mega talented Rizwan Manji (Paterson, Mr. Robot) with Casting by Brette Goldstein and photography by Nevil Jackson. The film will shoot in New York City. It is our intention to shoot in the Spring of 2018.
We have already put in several months of careful preparations towards getting the film made. Now comes the stage for financing that will enable us to execute our carefully made prep. We can only do this with your generous help. We aim to raise in excess of 35K. The money we raise will be used for: location fees, camera and lighting equipment, crew salaries, casting and actors, wardrobe, sets and art direction. In post production (the portion after the shoot) we will need to fund editing, some visual effects, sound mix and color correction.
To give your kind contribution even more power, we are partnering with From The Heart Productions as a fiscal sponsor which will make it possible for all donations to be tax deductible to the extent of the law. The IRS allows deductions of the portion of your contribution which exceeds the fair market value of the goods or services you receive.
From the Heart has been successfully funding projects since its inception in 1993 under the 501(c)3 Internal Revenue Code of 1954. They are also classified as a public charity under section 509(a)(2) of the Code. As such, any monetary donations to their Fiscal Sponsorship Program qualify as charitable contributions under the U.S. Tax Code for 95 444 5418.
