LOMBARD ARTS & CULTURE PROJECT

We have watched as the field of creativity has been drastically reduced in our educational system and community outlets are disappearing or nonexistent. It is imperative that creativity in the minds of our young be kept fertile and nurtured as they grow. Our goal is to create a place for young people and their families to make high quality art in our community.

The Open Door Gallery has begun a collaboration with Portland Abbey Arts and the Kemba Shannon Dance Center to create and sustain a permanent art space in north/northeast Portland, Oregon.

Hi, my name is Bobby Fouther often called “Mr. Bobby” by my students, I am a visual and performing artist. I am a second-generation artist and native Oregonian. In my youth I was inspired by the wealth of artists and mentors in my life and the art that nurtured and surrounded me in my neighborhood. Some Portland, Oregon residents may remember the Albina Art Center of years gone by where many creative dreams like mine came to fruition.

What We Need & What You Get

As we prepare our Summer Camp program starting in July 2014. We want to build a safe space for our project while we work on becoming a non profit organization. We currently need seed money for summer programing, planning, marketing and insurance for our onsite art collection.
