WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
“Scattered in junk drawers, filed away into memory boxes, and tossed in trash bins, are the hundreds of letters I’ve written. This intimate and tangible form of connection between two people was the inspiration for Postcards from Portland. At its heart this short is about that connection and the daily search for it: whether it’s found in a lover, a long-lost mother, or an unexpected postcard.” - Rebecca Balough, Writer/Director
Postcards from Portland is a short film that begins when a postcard from Portland, Oregon catches the eye of Ella, a curious mail worker at a Portland, Maine post office. Ella quickly enlists the help of her coworker, Leo, as she begins to search for the owner of the P.O. box the card is addressed to. Leo jumps at the chance to spend time with Ella and the two dive into an adventure which seems to come to a speedy halt as they discover that the P.O. box doesn't have a name listed and is unidentified.
For Ella, though, this discovery hits a cord and sends her on her own journey as she obsesses over the P.O. box, its postcards, and the bundle of letters marked return to sender that she keeps with her at all times.

WHAT DO WE NEED?
As many of you know to make a film it can be very expensive. Our goal budget is $500. Below depicts how we plan to split our budget into 3 categories.
--Craft Services: $150. People have to be fed!
-Props and Costumes: $100. In order to achieve the style of our specific film, it requires quite a bit of props and costumes.
-Film Festivals Fees: $250. After completing this film we plan to submit it to film festivals which can be pretty costly.
Each of these categories we as a team find crucial in the process of creating our film. We are extremely appreciative of any amount of money you are able to donate. Every penny will go towards making this film the best it can be.
Other Ways You Can Help
We know not everyone is able to donate, but if you could please share this page with a friend or post it on one of your social medias, we would be extremely grateful!
THANK YOU!
Love from Portland,
