We Need Your Help!

We're Radical Root Organic Farm, a husband and wife farming couple who grow certified organic vegetables and raising chickens for eggs. We're first generation farmers with a passion for growing healthy, organic food for our community. We started our farm business in incubator settings (Growing Home in Marsellies, IL and more recently in Grayslake, IL with the Farm Business Development Center), renting land and equipment on temporary (annual) basis. This year we had the great opportunity to move our business (and family) to Casey Farm, a historic farm with close proximity to Chicago. This farm has been preserved by a conservation organization, which has leased it to us to farm the land in an ecological and environmentally sensitive way.  

Your help with funds for the greenhouse (30' x 96') will insure that we're set to start our 2014 growing season off! Seedlings need to be started in February (when the ground is still frozen), so building out the greenhouse this fall is crucial to be sure we have crops ready transplant in the early spring.
