Help support Mongolian ethno jazz and American exposure to world music!Arga Bileg leads
Mongolia’s modern music scene with jazz that masterfully combines the
traditions of Mongolian music with contemporary Western jazz. They create their
own new compositions and present strikingly innovative interpretations of
traditional Mongolian folk songs, using both Western and traditional Mongolian
instruments.
The
seven professional musicians who founded Arga Bileg in 2009 are
award-winning musicians and composers who have performed in some of the world’s
most prestigious performance spaces including Carnegie Hall in New York,
National Grand Theater in Beijing, Orchard Hall in Tokyo and the Vienna
Philharmonic in Vienna.
The band has been part of many international and local projects. Among the
band’s albums are the ethno jazz record
Deelt and the soundtrack to horror
film
Dev. They have
performed to enthusiastic audiences across the world on tours that include
Germany, France, Russia and New York, Denver and Seattle in the US. Earlier this
year, Arga Bileg was selected to collaborate on jointly conceived music with
Swiss musicians. The combined groups performed sold-out concerts in Mongolia
and produced an album of new music to be released in November in Switzerland.
Arga Bileg is coming to the US for a second tour this fall. The band has
secured all international travel costs,
but needs your support for domestic
US airfares and local travel expenses. In this tour, they will perform concerts at Town Hall in
Seattle, Lotus
World Music Festival in
Bloomington, and in
Denver. The band will
also visit
Chicago and
New York City to explore the jazz scene of
America. This tour will open a window for US audiences to understand the unique
musical traditions of this extraordinary country and to hear how those
traditions can be woven into entirely new musical experiences.
The tour will also inspire band members professionally to create even more
exciting and unique jazz music.
With your contribution the band can promote new Mongolian music to U.S and
introduce a new jazz sound to the world.
When you contribute to the tour, you can download 2-10 of the best musical compositions from their Deelt and Dev album for free or download their full album for free.
Supporters who donate $10 or more will be thanked on the band's social media, and IndieGoGo backers will receive behind-the-scenes updates on the band and their U.S. tour.
