The idea of TIDO was initiated in 2015 as our internal project, inspired by a real-life stray tuxedo cat that used to hang out in our studio, and our love of popular cultures like paranormal events and conspiracy fictions. Due to limited resources, it took us about a year and a half to develop the full concept of TIDO — the stories, characters, its world, and the 3 minutes full CGI animated short film version.
Now we would like to present TIDO to wider audiences around the world, which help bringing TIDO to next level as an unique animated horror comedy series. The series will be made using full CGI technology, each episodes duration is 11 minutes. We target to premiere the series in late 2018.

TIDO is a cynical tuxedo cat who constantly tries to run away from his overly possessive little owner named Dina, but no matter how badly he tried, his owner will always managed to find him. Fortunately, TIDO can see and speak with a bunch of misfit supernatural beings and monsters that human can’t. Therefore, TIDO befriends with these supernatural monsters, and uses them to help his escape plans.

TIDO's owner. Dina's a 10 year old little girl. Talkative, hyperactive, a total control freak. Dina also likes to act like a mother at home. Her parents are workaholic who spend most of their time working outside, Tido is her only playmate at home, that's why she'll do whatever to make sure Tido is on her side!

One of them, it's a hipster monster who can fly around. Obsessed with internet, especially his FB fan page... Freddy always think he knows more than others and likes to show off his knowledge, but his suggestions often proved to be pointless.

Jason is a big fella monster who always busy with his bowling-liked head. One of his supernatural abilities is that he can detach his head and throws it everywhere to become like a surveillance camera.

Lexter is just like a small kid with four legs and a creepy mask. Easily scared by almost anything. This guy always think that he has such supernatural power that he could run faster than others, but in reality maybe not.

Robert is an introvert, a very quiet personality. TIDO likes him a lot, because whatever Tido tries to tell him, Robert will always there to listen. One of his supernatural ability is that, no matter what happened, good or bad, Robert will always keep smiling....

We want to produce TIDO animated series with YOUR HELP! We came to Indiegogo to reach out fans of horror comedy and animation fanatics across the world, to invite you to be part of the production and get your hands on some exclusive rewards.
WHERE DO YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS GO?
All funds raised through our Indiegogo campaign will go towards the series production costs that consist of different sections such as modelling, rigging, animation, shading, lighting, rendering, voice recording, sound design and music composition. With your help, we will be able to expand the production team, to produce TIDO towards higher quality animation contents with more engaging stories and characters.
In addition to the cost of making the series, part of the funds will also be used to help us offer our backers high quality, limited edition Perks, so you get great value items when supporting us.
We’ve calculated that we need a minimum of $150,000 for the production of 3 episodes. If we can go over the amount, we will be able to produce more episodes and introduce more exciting new characters.

Founded by Darrel Chia (Film Director / Producer) and Tai Keck Yuen (Animation & VFX Supervisor), theCommonist provides one-stop services for TV commercials, music videos, internet contents and feature films for Malaysia and International markets since 2009.
