WAYKE-UP
for
THE WILDLIFE WAYSTATION
Nestled in the hills
of the Angeles National Forest, we are one of the oldest non-profit sanctuaries
in the nation. Since our inception in
1965, we have provided rescue, rehabilitation, release and permanent shelter to
over 76,000 animals.
They want to meet you.

HELP US OPEN OUR DOORS!
The Wildlife
Waystation is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and providing permanent
shelter for native wild and exotic animals. The refuge is a seven
day-a-week operation, providing our animals with everything from veterinary
care in a fully staffed Health Center, specialized diets, proper enclosures,
nurturing and daily enrichment. Many of
our animals were rescued from deplorable conditions, or came from private
owners; others were, confiscated, abandoned, orphaned, came from the
entertainment industry or were released from the inhumane confines of medical
research laboratories. Native wild
animals with permanent injuries who were unable to be released back into the
wild were also given a permanent home.
The Wildlife Waystation’s primary
purpose is to accept all animals in need and currently has over 40 species as
permanent residents. Education is also an important part of its mission. Once open, we can also serve as an
educational oasis for school children, communities and environmental
enthusiasts alike--we just need your help to open our doors!
With
your help, we can raise the necessary funds to be able to invite visitors like
you up to meet our wonderful animals.

The Impact
The Wildlife Waystation has not only
provided a safe haven to animals in need, it has made an impact by sharing its
knowledge and magic of the wilderness to all those seeking it. With the
opening of its doors, you will help:
- Insure a safe, permanent home for the 450 wild and exotic animals
at the sanctuary
- Reopen this animal oasis to visitors, so its beauty and mission
can be shared with Los Angeles
- On-site environment and educational programs become available to
the surrounding communities
- Restore rehabilitation and release programs for native wildlife
- Ignite a spark of magic in a child's eye as he gets to actually
see animals that he has only learned about in school.
