“Perché la Birra è Terra!” – Teo Musso

Siamo a Piozzo, Piemonte, un piccolo paesino agricolo in provincia di Cuneo, affacciati al suggestivo paesaggio delle Langhe, Terra di grandi vini, un luogo dove, da qualche tempo, i vigneti confinano coi luppoleti grazie alla presenza di Baladin. Qui, dove da pochi mesi è nato il nuovissimo impianto di produzione, sorgerà il Baladin Open Garden ideato seguendo una precisa visione futura alla quale vogliamo che partecipi una community grandissima, perché è un sogno che vogliamo condividere!

Per realizzare questa visione abbiamo scelto il crowdfunding, per unire il nostro desiderio di restare indipendenti con la volontà di rendere questo parco un luogo non solo aperto a tutti, ma di tutti, in linea con la filosofia Open Baladin di condivisione. 

Un luogo VIVO dove incontrarsi, passare del tempo con la famiglia, con amici, immersi nella natura e dove, per chi lo vorrà, scoprire la Birra artigianale e il suo rapporto diretto con la Terra e l’agricoltura. L’idea ispiratrice di Teo Musso è infatti quella di creare una comunità che porti avanti il linguaggio di integrazione fra realtà contadina e artigianalità. 

Nasce questo concept unico che vogliamo diventi di tutti. Il primo parco della Birra italiano, che è molto di più! Baladin Open Garden.

Gli ospiti saranno accolti nei pressi di una grande cascina di interesse storico (addirittura menzionata in carteggi napoleonici) offrendo loro del pane prodotto in un grande forno che in passato veniva utilizzato come locale comune dalle cascine confinanti. Stiamo infatti lavorando per ricreare il forno storico nel quale si faceva il pane e noi vogliamo recuperarlo, compresa una piccola macina per lavorare il cereale: quale miglior modo per accogliere i visitatori se non con un prodotto che con la Birra condivide il legame con la Terra?

Verranno organizzati dei mercatini agricoli a chilometro zero coinvolgendo dei contadini della zona che offriranno il frutto del loro lavoro che potrà essere trasformato direttamente nel parco. Ci saranno infatti strutture per poter cucinare direttamente i prodotti, oppure chiedendo un aiuto al nostro personale mentre voi vi rilassate! Per esempio con la Birra esclusiva del parco.

Baladin è un birrificio agricolo e racconteremo per chi vorrà ascoltare la nostra storia, il nostro impegno come imprenditori agricoli e come Birrai. Racconteremo come si trasforma l’orzo e come si coltiva il luppolo. 

La storia di Baladin inizia nel 1986, quando nasce a Piozzo dall’entusiasmo e dall’incoscienza di un giovane appassionato di Birra artigianale e musica, il pub “Le Baladin”, nome suggerito dall’amico François Bidon – poeta circense – che in francese antico significa “il cantastorie”.

Il parco che ci aiuterete a creare sarà una tappa fondamentale del turismo legato al made in Italy, all’eccellenza Italiana, all’artigianalità, ai prodotti della Terra, alla sostenibilità, all’ambiente, allo stare assieme e alla scoperta della Birra Viva. Sempre più Open, all’insegna della condivisione e allora questo progetto vogliamo che sia anche VOSTRO.

Emblema di questa nuova avventura è la cascina, una cascina Piemontese del 1600 simbolo delle radici che non dimentichiamo mai: la sua ristrutturazione è avviata, e col vostro aiuto vogliamo trasformarla in un ambiente accogliente aperto a tutti: punto di partenza per il vostro viaggio alla scoperta del parco che si estende per 73.000 metri quadrati, del racconto della Terra che fa nascere la nostra Birra, per vivere questa emozione unica in un territorio magnifico, immerso nel verde.

Come tutte le tappe della Baladin viene festeggiata con la creazione di una Birra speciale: la Baladin Open Garden, che potrà essere assaggiata solo al parco, direttamente alla spina e non in bottiglia. In via del tutto speciale verrà imbottigliata in formato Magnum durante la campagna, per portarvi un po’ dei profumi e sapori protagonisti del parco a casa vostra e magari invogliarvi a venirci a trovare al Baladin Open Garden!

150 $ - BIRRA DA DIVANO (barley wine) 50 cl - La Xyauyù è una speciale birra viva ad alta fermentazione che incontrando l’aria pura delle Langhe attiva un processo di macro ossidazione e riposando per lungo tempo in grandi botti di rovere prima e in carati più piccoli in seguito, è divenuta un prodotto nuovo, unico. All’aspetto si presenta limpida, priva di schiuma e gasatura, con un colore intenso, di tono ambrato carico e riflessi ramati. 2) Una Birra Open Garden con Gabriele Bonci. Tavola rotonda sul tema Pane e Terra e picnic nel parco con Gabriele e Teo. Durante l’incontro Gabriele produrrà il pane e le focacce per il picnic utilizzando il forno storico del parco. Numero massimo partecipanti: 10. Gabriele Bonci: Gabriele Bonci (classe ’77) romano doc, sperimenta in cucina fin da giovanissimo. Dopo gli studi alberghieri lavora in molti ristoranti della capitale, poi nel 2003 decide di aprire una pizzeria. L’idea è quella di trovare un modo rapido per guadagnare presto i soldi necessari per poi aprire il suo ristorante. La farina, gli impasti, il lievito e l’arte bianca però lo travolgono. Greg Koch: co-fondatore del birrificio artigianale indipendente Stone Brewing nato nel 1996 a San Diego, California ha oggi sedi in Virginia e Berlino. Sam Calagione: fondatore del birrificio artigianale indipendente Dogfish Head nato in Delaware (USA) nel 1995. Sam è considerato una delle figure più rappresentative del mondo birraio artigiano statunitense. Noto per aver condotto il programma “Il boss della birra” a Sam viene riconosciuta la dote di grande esploratore nel creare birre eccezionali. Ugo Nespolo è attualmente la più “alta autorità” patafisica italiana. Ha fondato con Baj l’Istituto Patafisico Ticinese e si onora di avere il proprio diploma firmato da Raymond Quenau che aveva apprezzato un piccolo libro di logica formale scritto da Nespolo e stampato dall’Editore Schwarz nel 1968. Esperienza guidata di pratica della consapevolezza. L'atto creativo è libero (cioè non compulsivo, reattivo) quando scaturisce dalla non-azione. la produzione della birra comincerà in estate 2017, una volta che attiveremo la micro malteria artigianale del parco e sarà cresciuto e raccolto il luppolo.

“Because Beer is Earth!” – Teo Musso

We are in Piozzo, Piedmont, a small farming town in the Province of Cuneo, looking over the suggestive landscape of the Langhe, a land of great wines, a place where, for some time now, vineyards border hops fields, thanks to the presence of Baladin.  Here, where just a few months ago a new production facility was opened, soon there will also be the Baladin Open Garden, created with a precise vision of the future in which we would like a large community to participate, because it’s a dream that we want to share! 

To make this dream come true, we chose a crowdfunding platform, in order to unite our desire to remain independent, with the idea of making this park a place not only open to all, but also belonging to all, in line with the Open Baladin sharing philosophy.

A LIVE place to meet, spend time with your family and friends in nature and where, for those who wish to, you can discover Craft Beer and it’s direct relationship with the Earth and agriculture.  Teo Musso’s inspiring idea is in fact that of creating a community that mantains a language of integration between the agricultural world and artisanship.

Thus is born this unique concept, that we hope will belong to all.  The first Italian Beer park, but that is also much more!  Baladin Open Garden. 

The guests will be welcomed into a large farmhouse with historical roots (even mentioned in Napoleonic maps), with bread baked in a large oven that in the past was used as a common oven for the area farmhouses.  We are working to recreated the historical oven that was used to bake bread and we would like to restore it, including a small mill for grains: what better way to welcome guests than with a product that, like Beer, shares a link to the Earth? 

Farmer’s markets (zero kilometer) will be organized with local farmers that will offer the fruits of their labor that can be transformed directly within the park.  There will in fact be structures adapted for cooking the products directly, asking our personnel for assistance while you relax!  For example with an exclusive Beer from the park. 

Baladin is an agricultural alehouse and we will tell, for those that are interested, our story, our commitment as agricultural entrepreneurs and as Beer makers. We will show the transformation of malt and how to cultivate hops. 

Baladin’s story starts in 1986, when the pub “Le Baladin” was founded in Piozzo, born from the enthusiasm of a young man passionate about Craft Beer and music, the name was an idea of his friend François Bidon – circus poet – that in antique French means “the ballad singer”.

We will harvest hops and see the work of the Baladin Hop Machine. There will be activities planned for kids so that parents can relax (with a beer in hand) while their children discover the park. Places are limited: only 1000 places available. Date: Saturday, August 27, 2017 (in case of late maturation of hops you will be notified).

150 $ - SOFA BEER (barley wine) 50 cl - The Xyauyù is a special top-fermented live beer that as a result of meeting the pure air of the Langhe which activates a macro oxidation and resting for a long time in large oak barrels first and smaller ones after, it has become a new unique product. Its aspect is clear, free of foam and carbonation, with an intense color, a strong amber tone and copper hues. The first impression reveals great intensity, emerging hints of dried fruit and candied fruit with important and harmonious notes that take us back to memories of great marsalati wines. During the roundtable Gabriele bread and focaccia will be baked for the picnic using the historical oven of the park. Maximum number of participants: 10. Sam is coming to Italy for the “Salone del Gusto” fair 2018 thus the roundtable will be held indicatively in that period (September 2018).

Sam Calagione: founder of the independent craft brewery Dogfish.  Founded in Delaware (USA) in 1995. Sam is considered as one of the most representative persons in world of American craft beers. Known to be the host of the tv show “Brew Masters”  Sam is recognized as explorer and creator of exceptional beers. A guided experience of awareness. The creative act is free (ie not compulsive, reactive) when it flows from non-action. Communication is direct and effective starting from silence, not by the verbal and mental chatting. The meeting is open to 2 groups of 10 adult participants.
It takes place during the day: - 8: 30-12: 30 Introduction to zazen (Zen meditation) - 12: 30-15:00 picnic in the park, - 15: 00-18: 00 zazen, action painting and conclusion.

You must be 21 years of age at the time of purchase. Unless you’re European, in which case you need to be of legal drinking age in your country.

When will the beer be brewed?
Beer production begins in spring 2017, once we activate the micro malting craft of the park and will be grown and harvested hops.

What happens if I buy an experience “no date” and I can’t attend?
