Short Summary
Sara Rios has touched so many lives. She's traveled so much of the world and helped so many people. Through her many positions from her days at FLOC, to the Ford Foundation and Ruth Mott Foundation. She was diagnosed with ALS 1 year ago. She has since planned a trip to New York city which I was asked to document. I would love to include stories both from the families she's helped and her circle of friends. Recently my film camera was stolen along with some other equipment. More than anything I would like to be able to shoot this documentary for my aunt who has done so much for me. Your help is greatly appreciated, any amount goes a long way toward making our goal.
Funds from this campaign will be used to offset costs of replacing equipment (including a cinema camera) and go toward the cost of the trip.
Anyone who donates $20 or more will receive a DVD copy of the finished documentary, and $100 or more you will be listed as a co-producer for the film.
Among other goals, I would hope that this film can shed a little light on persons living with ALS. Adjusting to life with ALS is not easy, and does not happen over night. Documenting this trip will show the steps that at least my family has taken to help comfort my aunt Sara. With cooperation from the airline I'd also hope to document how to properly travel, and some of the devices necessary to keep someone with ALS not only comfortable but alive. Our team also supports the ALS research ice bucket challenge, stay tuned for ice bucket videos soon.
Again any and all donations are greatly appreciated. If you prefer a check or money order contribution please contact 419-908-0767.
Thanks for your support,
sincerely,
Gabe Rios-Hannon
